I have to apologize, I mean really apologize. I didn't mean for this idea to be such a good concept yet here I am creating yet another one. As a precedent this will not start until I believe we are ready for it. I want to make this RP something special and one that can be remembered for all time. So here we go welcome to the Romance of the Eight Kingdoms.

Basically here is the general idea, the amount of people that can join is infinite and they can join at any time. What you will be doing is playing a Master who summons a Servant into the crazy world of Empty Earth. Inside empty earth all 8, yes Avenger is here as well, of you will command not just the Servant but entire countries that span the globe. Now some of you will ask, how will this work? What will we do? How can there be an infinite amount of players? well I'll tell you right now.

Basically the Servant you summon will lead not just the army but also all the heroes involved. (So if you summoned King Arthur you also get the Knights of the Round Table.) You as a player will command armies make alliances cause betrayal and hog all the resources for yourself. And before you ask no picking a modern hero will not give a huge advantage. (The reason for this is due to the fact you all will be summoned on land that is completely uninhabited so getting a modern army up to speed will take time and resources). The rest of the things will be debated in the thread itself so even if all the classes are called dont worry you can still join.

Countries:

MssrNeko: Spain, El Cid

RacingeR: Greece, Jason | Erlkonig, Hercules

Knight Turtle: Britain, Richard the Lionheart

Five_X: Lebanon, Hannibal

Xamusel: Israel, King David

Ace: China, Sun Wukong

LeopardBear: France, Napoleon

zlol365: Japan, Emporer Jinmu

yun: Germany, Erwin Rommel

Spot get. Dibs at army commander.

More questions when I come back from dinner. :3

Also, far more info needed on how you plan to equalize different time periods before I pick a Servant.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 09:01 PM
Spot also get.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:06 PM
I read the idea... and I'm hooked.

Even though I said earlier in a different part of the board that I'd not RP here, I'm amending it to let me RP in this one, just don't expect me on every day.

Translation: Reserve me a spot for Master. I don't know which class I'll get, and honestly, I don't care right now.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 09:07 PM
this is interesting, i'll join too.

SeiKeo
September 9th, 2011, 09:08 PM
And just a request: remove classes. The point is to have armies and tactics compete, not arbitrary classes.

Yun
September 9th, 2011, 09:11 PM
Sounds fun so I'll join

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:15 PM
I'm going to agree with Leopard on one thing: you need far more info on period equalizing.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:17 PM
Yeah I just made this so we can discuss right away. Btw I've decided that the heroes must either be real, or real fake. Master's can be anything you want.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:19 PM
When you say real "or real fake", what exactly do you mean?

And on the Master issue, when you say "anything", is that within limits?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:21 PM
Anything means anything. Since we are controlling armies and not just one Servant you can have a stronger master then normal.

As for the real fake I mean people who might have been in myth's or things like that but not people you make up from scratch. (Need to have some origin for your army after all, not just super saiyan jedi's from the demon dimension.)

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:23 PM
Ah... that makes sense.

I was curious about the anything part, because I have a character idea, but I wasn't sure how you wanted the character to be done.

Also, I should've seen the explanation for the Real Fake thing coming, if you know what I mean.

September 9th, 2011, 09:26 PM
So if you get Joan, You also get creepy caster guy as well?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:27 PM
Yep. (You get to choose whether or not it was before he went crazy.)

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:27 PM
Hmm... never thought of it that way.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 09:28 PM
what's the stats going to be like?

MssrNeko
September 9th, 2011, 09:28 PM
I am tempted to join.....

Save a spot for me, Milbunk.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:30 PM
I have to ask the same thing as lantz here... stats?

mangafreak7793
September 9th, 2011, 09:32 PM
how will army to army combat work?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:32 PM
Stats will be very differently done. Sure you Servant will be very important, (With charisma actually doing something now.) but the age of the servant and nationality will also play a giant roll. More modern men will get weaker people while age of god men will be like mini servants.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:34 PM
Hmm... Can I get Archer!Herakles?

Erlkonig
September 9th, 2011, 09:36 PM
Joining as RacingeR's main army commander (i.e Summoned Servant).

mangafreak7793
September 9th, 2011, 09:38 PM
Joining as RacingeR's main army commander (i.e Summoned Servant).

So your a division commander.

Erlkonig
September 9th, 2011, 09:38 PM
So your a division commander.
No, I'm the commander of all his troops, i.e the summoned Servant.

Oh never mind

I AM a division commander

mangafreak7793
September 9th, 2011, 09:40 PM
So it's a master and servant relation.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:42 PM
Master's will also play a big part. They can choose to lead next to their hero or command troops on the front line it's all up to you.

MssrNeko
September 9th, 2011, 09:43 PM
Can our main Servant lead from the front line too?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:44 PM
Of course we wouldn't have Alexander then now would we.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 09:44 PM
here was a confusion. I am using both the Servant and my Master... I think.

Not sure now.

Also, Xam, we already have Herc under our command here. What do?

Erlkonig
September 9th, 2011, 09:45 PM

Aw come on, why play both Servant and Master? ;_;

At least give me a bigger position, cheapstake ;_;

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICHARD

He is mine, and I am here to play silly wars.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 09:47 PM
Aw come on, why play both Servant and Master? ;_;

At least give me a bigger position, cheapstake ;_;

Well... If I play only the Master, my position will be greatly reduced as pretty much... being Master.

I wouldn't even get to command troops in front due to the huge risk, and I wouldn't have command abiltiies whatsoever and...

Just playing the Master alone seems pretty sucky.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:47 PM
I'm going to ask a question: What sort of stuff would it be for the Master sheet creation?

EDIT: Also, I didn't know Herc was already used, okay?

Erlkonig
September 9th, 2011, 09:48 PM

Oh yeah, I forgot you're obsessed with OP. Nevermind then.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 09:49 PM
so I can be me then if I so choose?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:49 PM
To Xam: You can still be Herc you will just be put in their army as a commander instead.

To Lantz: Yeah but you would be a normal human in a war with Age of God people.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 09:51 PM
Actually, never mind, I didn't mean it that way.

What I meant was "Can I have Archer!Herakles as my Servant", but I'm going to try a different idea, actually.

Conquest, anyone?

EDIT: That's only if Elyrin is going to play, then I'd be the Servant Conquest.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 09:52 PM
To Lantz: Yeah but you would be a normal human in a war with Age of God people.

but my servant can still by say Saber for example, right?

mangafreak7793
September 9th, 2011, 09:52 PM
How will battles be fought?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:52 PM
Not sure about that one, we may need to discuss it. Also I am not the sole GM everyone can come up with stuff I am only the main decider if no one can agree.

Btw, people from video games and recent things are fine.

To Manga: Probably with smarts and tactics.

To Lantz: There are no classes just 8 servants and their countries.

mangafreak7793
September 9th, 2011, 09:53 PM
^ But shouldn't they be somewhat Historical?

MssrNeko
September 9th, 2011, 09:54 PM
I think we should stick with just historical and mythical.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 09:55 PM
I could help with making large-scale battles work, if not directly joining the RP.

xelloss
September 9th, 2011, 09:55 PM
Yeah, if you let them be from recent things that are fictional.

Well.

Summon Ender Wiggin. Auto-win.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:55 PM
Alright they can be from video games or such to an extent we don't want Demonbane or FE here after all. A Rance may be fine.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 09:56 PM
There are no classes

I was referring to the Character of saber not the class actually

mangafreak7793
September 9th, 2011, 09:57 PM
So I can summon Shimon and bring out Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

jk but their should be some limit to that.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 09:57 PM
Alright they can be from video games or such to an extent we don't want Demonbane or FE here after all. A Rance may be fine.

I insist, if you are allowing fictional ones, I might just bail. That is not going to be fun at all.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 09:57 PM
Oh if you want King Arthur go ahead. You will also get the knights of the round table and any other famous generals that served under her.

Yeah there will be a big limit to the fictional part. For now just make a suggestion and we will see.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 09:58 PM
^^ Agreed.

Airen
September 9th, 2011, 09:58 PM

If so, I guess I'm in.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 09:59 PM

-.-

Elyrin
September 9th, 2011, 09:59 PM
So, summoning Conquest, for the lulz.

Y/N?

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 09:59 PM
Oh if you want King Arthur go ahead. You will also get the knights of the round table and any other famous generals that served under her.

yes I do want the king, but so I'm clear. can i choose the king's gender in this case?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:00 PM
To Airen: Hahahaha no.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:01 PM
Hannibal Servant: Yes or Yes?

MssrNeko
September 9th, 2011, 10:01 PM
I'm calling it in...

*pulls out a small obsidian box*

If you know what is in this box, then you know with what I have in here I can sentence entire planets to die.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 10:01 PM
Mil, please, let's take out the fictional thing.

It will just not be fun at all.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:02 PM
Wait, Milbunk, is Conquest really a no-go?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:04 PM
Yeah no gods or things like that it really wouldn't be fair to everybody.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:04 PM
Okay, I see.

Let's see what else would be good, then...

Elyrin
September 9th, 2011, 10:04 PM
He'd still be balanced on whatever system we're using, I assume.

But, eh, if he's not allowed, he's not allowed.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:05 PM
Btw, betrayals and alliances are allowed. After all it's war with countries, if you can't beat em make an alliance and stab em in the back.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:07 PM
We should use Europa Universalis to simulate this. :P

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:07 PM
True.

How about me being Gilgamesh?

Or is that joke too stupid?

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 10:07 PM
alright then don't forget to add me on the main page/wherever with Saber and her knights and so on.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:09 PM
To Xam: Gil is perfectly fine.

Airen
September 9th, 2011, 10:10 PM
To Airen: Hahahaha no.

Okay.

Uh, how about... Scheherazade. With some of the Heroic Spirits from her stories being a part of her army alongiside the more normal persian units?

Temporarily withdrawing join request.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:10 PM
Oh? I see.

I thought it wouldn't be that smart an idea, but... what sort of stats would Gil get, anyway?

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:10 PM
To Lantz: Could work I don't see why not.

To Xam: Same as in his legend. He would get his normal sheet and he would command sumerians. His commanders would include Enkidu and Semmirias. (That assassin from that mmo thing for fate.)

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 10:14 PM
To Lantz: Could work I don't see why not.

oh just a question. you said the knights that those who served with her right? that means i get merlin and Mordred as well.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:15 PM
So, how exactly is this going to be organized? Everything seems to be rather loose right now.

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:15 PM
That is a reasonable guess, lantz, in my opinion.

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:16 PM
To Lantz: Yeah of course just remember, the more powerful the general army and commanders are the less troops you start off with.

Okay lets get this set up. Can someone list the countries and heroes that have been approved.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 10:16 PM
That is a reasonable guess, lantz, in my opinion.

Merlin was her great adviser and in basically EVER legend about Mordred he served as arthur's knight until the betrayal

MssrNeko
September 9th, 2011, 10:19 PM
I guess I'll rock Spain and El Cid.

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 10:19 PM
I picked Jason and his Argonauts. Erl is using Herc.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:24 PM
Can I be somebody? North Africa? Tunisia?

A Lebanon is fine, too... ;_;

Milbunk
September 9th, 2011, 10:24 PM
You can be America if you want. Africe and Tunisia are fine just pick the leader. Same for Lenanon, modern countries are fine.

Katie
September 9th, 2011, 10:26 PM
Claiming BRITAIN.

Screw King Arthur, it's RICHARD TIME.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:26 PM
Okay then, I'll be Lebanon/Phoenicia, with Hannibal as the leader.

lantzblades
September 9th, 2011, 10:28 PM
Claiming BRITAIN.

Arthur is welsh

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:29 PM
If Elyrin approves, I'll be the Sumerian king Gilgamesh, so...

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:31 PM
Arthur is welsh

Wales is in Britain.

Airen
September 9th, 2011, 10:31 PM
@Milbunk: So is Scheherazade approved for use...?

Grabbing Persia by the way. (Or perhaps the arabian penisula)

Claiming BRITAIN.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 10:46 PM
So, are the countries historical or form any time period, assuming there are no major overlaps?

Xamusel
September 9th, 2011, 10:55 PM
Hmm... Elyrin and I are discussing whether or not to use Paul the Apostle from when he was Saul of Tarsus, or Moses or whatever else we could come up with.

That's the one thing we need to work out... he wants to do something with Christianity, but I didn't quite understand that line of thought. Hence why I suggested Gilgamesh.

SeiKeo
September 9th, 2011, 11:34 PM

Okay, here is where I think we need something. We need one roughly similar time period. Otherwise, the balance is just going to be way off and not make sense. I want actual interesting combat, not just lololderisbetter Fate stuff.

Anyways, Napoleon. I know that this probably screws me, non holyshit hax spirit, but whatever.

EDIT: See, I would pick something interesting like Tommy Franks or the like, but then I just get fucked when lolGil or Herc just strolls through everything.

Jason was also kind of a leader. Not that much of a military one, depending on the interpretations, but following the myths, he was kind of suppossed to be a really cunning one at commanding his subordinates and etc? xD.

El Cid has a little of both worlds: mythical and historical. Ah yeah~

RacingeR
September 9th, 2011, 11:51 PM
Yeah, but we're not really talking a full army there.

It depends. He had a huge amount of badass heroes under his command, and I think that in his myths, Jason ended up ruling countries, with their armies too.

Well, at least I see him as an effective military leader, by sheer assocciation with his myths.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 11:53 PM
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU-

IDK, my book of Greek Mythology doesn't have Jason pegged as a large scale military leader.

Five_X
September 9th, 2011, 11:58 PM
We have Wales and Sumeria, but at the same time the United Kingdom and Lebanon.

I think we need to clear this up somewhat, taking into account the modern day problems faced by some nations, and balancing that out. Or, we could go for something more all-out. I think Sumeria could technically work, 'cause even though it's got a ton of territory, there would have been a couple dozen million people living in the area at the time of its height in the ancient world.

SeiKeo
September 9th, 2011, 11:58 PM
We really need strict time limits on this. One person being behind is a huge problem. So, I suggest that we require one post every 48 hours.

EDIT: Gah, I think we need to pick a time period and restrict to it. This is a balance mess otherwise.

And I must say, again, instead of just having the teensy, war-ravaged nation of Lebanon, can I at least have some other parts of the Levant?

"I carry with me an Inquisitorial seal. It is a small, unassuming object contained in a neat box of Pluvian Obsidian. It is a modest thing. Relatively plain, adorned with a single motif and simple motto. Yet with this little object I can sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a billion souls to oblivion."

Here's the basic outline of the territories so far. I know it's kind of small, but that's because the countries themselves are spread out. There will possibly be territories within countries to balance it all out.

For the record, the colours are:

Spain - Light Orange

France - Blue

Phoenicia - White

Israel - Black

Sumeria - Gold

Greece - Green

Britain - Red and Blue stripes

Wales - Teal, I think?

China - Red

Alright we've been talking about a few things and we've come up with a few things for now. For the age here's how it's evened out. Basically if your tech is low you even it out with higher leveled magic. If you have higher tech then you magic isn't as good, this will be the best way to do things. We are still talking about other things so it's still in the early stages.

For HS's they will act as commanders but can use NPs as much as they want, but the question is would you want to? Think about it sure you could Excaliblast everything in sight but then your army would be just Arthur and maybe the commanders, not the best idea. As for a HS like Herc we also have a solution for him, first of all he can't regen lives since he needs to help support the army. Second though it's true he could fight an army by himself a wise commander would be able to defeat him so he isn't invincible. And no God Hand's other effect doesn't work because each and every sword, arrow, and magic blast would come from a different person.

As for the giant gap in between countries we aren't quite sure what to do about that yet, same for the way battles will take place though we are hoping to do a mix between Real Time and Turn Based.

RacingeR
September 10th, 2011, 08:45 AM

Just one thing, though. The map is rather... hard to see. I can't see where Phoenicia is, same with Wales.

Mil, if I don't have any commanders and just the Servant, does that mean that one servant gets a buff? [Or in my case, less of a nerf?]

I will list those notable on the Argonautica. We'll see about diminishing that list's size after that.

Atalanta
Bellerophon
Castor and Pollux
Heracles
Jason
Medea
Orpheus
Philoctetes
Ajax
Theseus.

These are the most recognizable from the list. Castor and Pollux counting as one because loltwins. Ten in total.

Btw, yun sent me a PM at 3 in the morning to take Germany so I'm probably going to allow him, but from now on if you want to join you need to be a commander in the armies.

To Racing: That is pretty OP.

To Ace: You don't have any commanders or generals?

@Mil: We'll talk later about this, then.

But do take in account that I am starting in the thousands while others start in the millions, or something like that.

At least it is not 250 Servants xP.

Richard the Lionheart
Robin Hood
Little John
Will Scarlet
The rest of the Merry Men as some units

Might add to this list...

Sun Wukong wasn't friends with many people you know. There are the people he traveled with in the Journey to the West, but they're hardly commander material.

Jason sits on his shoulders. Next guys sits on his, then the next guy, etc.

At least they'll be a large target for your cannons.

I'm pretty sure that Ace and I are the only people with standing armies in the millions.
