Fuck yes I've been waiting ten years for this. Decided to make a thread now because I didn't think of it earlier.

I really, really, really hope Bioware doesn't screw this up. I'm already a bit paranoid because those helicopters look a bit too much like Orcas, but overall I think it should be good. I hope.

Announced factions are the GLA, the EU, and one other, which probably will be China or something, because fuck yeah Nuke General. Probably won't be the USA, which is sad because USA was actually awesome in the first Generals.

In mourning, here is some fuck yeah awesome USA Battle Music:

I wouldn't be as worried about Bioware fucking it up as much as EA fucking it up, imo. EA has been on my shit list for a long time to be wary of the games they help publish outside their Sports ones.

Playing GLA is in my blood.

I loved how stupidly OP the Chinese Nuke General was. Made me laugh every time.

Did you guys know that the German version replaced everyone with robots, and the suicide bomber of the GLA not with a suicide bot but with a fucking walking barrel?

I'm not sure if that's full of win or full of fail! :P

Oh god, found it:

The GLA-bots are so badass, that they even still have BEARDS. Even the angry mob, which makes hilariously little sense. And then, the toxins are made nonsensical!

I think they replaced "Anthrax" with "Acid" or something...

Silly German censorship. Turning everyone into robots...

This is not the first thing where that happened.

Half-Life, Soldier of Fortune 2, other C&C games come to my mind. But it's becoming less and less bad.
There is a dedicated German site monitoring this stuff, it includes movies, comic books and the rest too.

That's not really BioWare, is it?

It's just Victory Games under a new shiny new label.

SeiKeo

Probably, but hell if I know.

Eh, it's under Origin, too, so I'm kinda meh.

But it's C&C Generals 2, so for that I'm willing to go ahead with it. If EA screws this up like what they did with Battle for Middle-earth 2, I will never forgive them. Even as publishers, it's still pretty much their responsibility, as well as BioWare's.

BFMEII was awesome.

Five_X
February 5th, 2012, 10:46 PM
No. Fuck. It was NOT. It was shit, seriously. Imbalanced, boring, too "high-fantasy" for the setting, not enough focus on gameplay, and with a poor campaign. The expansion only made it worse.

Sure, there were a few cool things with it, but I much, much preferred the style of BFME1, with the static castles and awesome, awesome campaign. That was cool; BFMEII was pretty much EA going, "Hey, we have the rights to the books now and our license to the films is about to expire! Let's fuck around and shit."

It could've been good, but it really wasn't.

IIRC, BioWare Victory/Victory Games was the studio behind C&C4.

Take that as you will.

Five_X

Actually, Victory was formed after C&C4 was released. Thankfully.

Torches fuck yeah.

And C&C 4 was just shit. Was the campaign any good?

Five_X
February 5th, 2012, 11:10 PM
Eh, it was... kind of meh? Really, any conclusion to the whole story would be meh if they just wrapped it up like that. It was odd.

I fucking loved the C&C 3 campaign.
And even the RA3 campaing even if it was just tits, tits everywhere.

I know. Historically accurate.

But I can't feel like it.
