Anybody else watching it? They are broadcasting it in national TV over here.

I knew you'd be the one to post this. Somehow. I must be a genius. Anyway, I think I heard the Discovery Channel is showing it, if you happen to not live in Austria.

Whenever this nation gets its 15 minutes of fame it pretty much becomes a national holiday :V

And Baumgartner is awesome.
"It never pays off dying at a jump. But if you get fucked while jumping off the Jesus statue in Rio, at least there is a certain glory to that."

I hope he has a parachute.

No. He hovers on awesomeness, parachute not required.
Dude failed to achieve the freefall time world record, but the rest worked so yeah, he can be happy.

I doubt that he cares about records anyway.

TypeWannabe

Well, he certainly made some kind of record.

I3uster
October 14th, 2012, 02:20 PM
He made 3. Wanted 4 though IIRC.

An Austrian beat 3 out of 4 world records: highest flight, highest jump, highest speed. He didn't beat the longest freefall one.

That second pic makes me want to try parachuting. But it requires lots of money. Which I don't have. :(

I3uster

Hiw much faster? If it wasn't even 18 times, that's just one more record he didn't break.

In response to Red Bull Stratos, Slim Jim has sponsored the shortest freefall in history:
