I'll side with Break here. Just try to act casual with her. If you feel what she did was a big deal, you should definitely talk to her about it, but try not to seem confrontational.

Hmmm... that could work. I guess she might be more willing to talk and such if I don't make it obvious that I know about what went on. If she bolted on first sight of me or whatever, that would in itself make her suspicious, so if I'm luck she'll be trying to keep things cool as well.

I haven't been in contact with a good friend of mine for a while, not since I moved countries in January. Now that I'm back in Canada, I recently learned from a mutual friend that, apparently, the friend in question did some pretty questionable things. Questionable as in, she promised to lease her apartment to a couple coworkers who needed a place to stay, but didn't end up telling her own landlord - thus getting a free $800 in fake rent from the two people who meant to live in her apartment, who have had to head out elsewhere.

Since then, she skipped town, changed her name and has cut ties with anyone and everyone who would know her "old" identity, which of course includes me as well. However, I know for a fact that she's going to be at a local anime convention, since she goes every year. I'm not entirely sure if all this stuff about her is completely true, but from what I can deduce, it seems true enough.

I doubt she'll immediately recognise me, since I look quite a lot different from when we last saw each other. I definitely will find her at the convention, or I'll at least see her there.

What should I do? How should I approach this? I don't really know how to feel about the whole situation, but I know I'd at least like to talk to her and meet her again; partly just to chat with a friend, but also partly to find out if and why she's been doing these things. I remember her as a really nice, selfless person. I want to see if that's still true or not - and hopefully she doesn't notice me and run away.

As the person somewhere above me mentioned. Laws the law, from my point of view.

However the real question would be: how much does the matter affect you and why? Are you just disturbed at the situation and want to know hows and whys? If so, just approach it like anything else you would that is of a delicate nature. Does it really matter? I know I've ignored some things my friends and family members have done just because they are just that. On the other hand. What is your point of view on the matter? Would you turn a blind eye if they had a good reason or condemn their actions regardless? Is it that you're disturb at how much they might have changed? Or just worried about a old friend?

Really their are a lot of ways to approach the situation and they all rely on how you feel and what outcome you seek.

Bears have been a bit of a problem but their rare. Coyotes are most been driven out of the area by the fact everyone has dogs. Bobcats are bloody loud and annoying and ducks are vicious monster when they want to swarm.

I've been stung a few times by bees and wasps, but most of the time they leave me alone. Bees don't sting statues, after all.

Now mosquitoes on the other hand, they are the filth. My blood is mosquito crack; the average summer day spent working in the yard nets me 10+ mosquito bites.

If I ever become a megalomaniacal mad scientist, the first thing I'm doing is reprogramming all mosquitoes to subsist on squirrel blood instead of human blood.

To those affected by Mosquitoes. Try rubbing garlic on your skin or supplement pills. Works for flees and ticks too. The same stuff that makes your breath smell bad, also covers the chemical (Carbon Dioxide and another I don't remember.) which most blood sucking insects hunt by. I don't use bug spray and even in heavily wooded areas and grass fields I don't get bit by mosquitoes, flees, and ticks.

Korburss

Find some caster gear. Most caster gear has great resistence to curses and the curse is far more dangerous than the damage they deal.

You can't sell stuff tell you run into the Frampt and that's not tell after the Sheath boss fight and roughly half way through the game.

Lotus Saint

Not right now, but i could farm them i guess. Where is it?

Also my character uses a Katana, knight shield, and pyromacy

There's no GOOD place to farm for 20,000 souls. But I'd try the bridge.
Get the dragon to kill all of the soldiers on it and rake in the 300 souls. Go back to the fire below it, and repeat.

You MAY want to try switching to a harder hitting weapon, or PLUS your gear.
As for pyromancy, what spells do you have for it and what level is your flame?

Lotus Saint
August 18th, 2014, 03:28 AM
It'll be hard giving a good set up idea since I always started out of a Thief or the occasional Hunter.
Try and find the Elite Knight armor in the Darkroot Garden. It will help greatly.
There's also a Long Bow on the path to the Darkroot Basin, I'd REALLY RECOMMEND IT.
Your starting item was a flop, but it won't kill your journey.
Normally I'd suggest a Long Sword or an Estoc, but the weapon you have now is alright.
If you feel like it, you can get the Drake sword from shooting off the tail of the dragon at the bridge. It's very strong, but after Blighttown it's worthless.

While the vid shows an absolute tank, it's pretty good for a mage build. High poise means you can cast some of the longer spells wihtout being stunned. And the set has Curse Resistance. Combine it with Havel's Ring(gotten by killing Havel the Rock in Undead Burg or Darkroot Basin, depending on if you have the Master key), which increases the amount of weight you can carry, and you can roll around pretty well with high endurance.

You can't get Havel's armor and weapon/shield until much later.
You CAN get his ring, which increases equipment load.
If you're into GIANT swords then you could get the Zweihander in the graveyard near the firelink shrine. Be prepared to run like a little bitch.
If you prefer an armor that allows better mobility, then you could try out black leather. It's lightweight, and it has okay defenses.
NEVER try dual wielding weapons. It's stupid and suicidal.

Basiliks are easy with the right set. Get something with some nice curse resistance, Pyromancy Set's a good choice. Also, try to get some range on them if you don't feel safe running up to them and their curse fog.

Or do as I do and run up to them and spam combustion/great combustion.

The Zweihander, Halberd(especially the Black Knight Halberd if you're lucky enough to get it off the Black Knight in Darkroot Basin), and the Claymore with it's long thrust are all good choices for long reach melee weapons.

We once played with Sanity points, it was a glorious mess. One of our guys ended up so broken he idolized a pebble.

Which i took and threw at a troll.

"My god, you threw my god!"

As for sanity points. They never exist in any games I play, they go too quickly and the fun ends.

Ever cause an entire country to kill themselves through fear and a few simple rumors?

I like to personalize my monstrous actions but I'll admit that does sound fun.

Also on another note. The tags for this thread are epic.

Nah, we tend to go straight from, "Everyone is already insane" to "Committing suicide" in a hour.

RP sessions are a lot of fun. Unless your GM is a giant dick, in which case he probably won't let you make a Dwarf that kills things with his beard.

Our GM had a habit where he would always say "click" whenever abooby trap got activated, it became somewhat of a runninf gag for us.

Or that one time a guy we all hated was in our group and we all abused his character all the time and used him as meat shield xD

I once turned a "Save the Princess" plot into my character mentoring the princess into becoming a ruthless tyrant.... By the time it was done I was the main villain and half of the party had been crucified before our rogue finally got lucky. He pulled a Assassin Creed style jump off the roof and stab in the middle of my coronation as king. It ended with the gm narrating a twisted version of Romeo and Juliet's ending.

Oh, here's a good one. I once played a sequel campaign where the descendent's from the PCs of the first game would all be PCs or important characters. I had a hundred and ninety three descendent's. The GM just threw his arms up and declared they would be an elite army.

Actually, the "we dine in Hell" phrase was derived from "we dine in Hades" phrase by the historical Leonidas.

Still makes no sense within the context of what Hades is or how the Greeks viewed the afterlife. Course he was being dramatic and poetic, so that can be handwaved.
