I know, one of the arms is actually finished; its just hard to see because the Toga is partly covering it.

the other one is mainly giving me a headache because i want it to be holding the chalice and i dont know how to best do that.... Also we already have a TM design for the chalice since BB uses it in CCC, but i dont have any concept drawings of it on hand

What exactly are the Tory party's political views?
Mine and Strife's conversation is a useful starting point. The Tories are the Conservative party and broadly live up to their billing, but they're currently rather divided about their methods.

The leadership, "Cameron's Tories" are a bit more metropolitan, more willing to compromise, more ambitious, and less principled. They are usually Conservative by nature, because they were brought up in households which inclined that way (i.e. mostly posh ones), but consciously are acting on what they actually think the country wants, and will adopt positions as necessary to retain popularity. What they think the country wants is certainly still shaped by their own perceptions, but it means they'll try to incorporate more modern ideas as public opinion swings. The introduction of full same-sex marriage is one of the most notable events where Cameron's Tories decided that this modern idea, which the historic Conservative party had been firmly against, was something to be supported.

On the other hand, you have the country squires, the 1922 committee. These are solidly Conservative MPs, usually from incredibly safe seats in rural areas, who are thoroughly committed to Conservativism, as a matter both of nature and of philosophy. They are less ambitious (being safe in their jobs for the most part), and more inclined to stick by their principles, but in turn less able to compromise or to update their beliefs.

For now Cameron holds control of the party but, because he only has a thin majority, has begun to cater more to the squires in order to retain their support. At any rate, the party's current direction is broadly described as "small government, big society": the state should keep out of the way as much as possible in order to run a good balance sheet, while allowing private initiatives to fill in the gaps so left, whether those are companies, charities, or individuals. Welfare is to be limited, and work encouraged; unions and nationalisation are to be resisted; businesses and entrepreneurship are supported; the military is interesting in principle, but a key target for reducing the budget; membership in the EU is to be retained, while opting out of as much European legislation as possible (this last is one of the great divides between Cameron and the Squires, because they generally hate the EU altogether).

Is the Tory party currently the largest political party in the UK? Are there more than just two major political parties in the UK?
In recent history (from ~1920), Labour and the Conservatives have been the dominant parties, forming the governing administrations. The Liberals and their various rebrandings (now the Liberal Democrats) were a third party who usually held enough MPs to be notable, but not enough to be major influences on government.

In 2010, a surge for the Liberal Democrats and a rejection of the two major parties after political scandals meant that no-one held enough seats to form a majority. The Lib Dems entered into a coalition with the Conservatives, judging it best to go along with the party that had garnered the most votes, even if that hadn't given them a majority. The coalition provoked an initial backlash from the Lib Dem supporters, and despite a period in which it seemed compromise and co-operation would rule, eventually the divisions between the parties became more and more obvious, which further eroded Lib Dem support.

In the latest election, this year, the political landscape again changed. A hung parliament and another coalition was expected by most political experts until literally the night of the election. (Strife and I did some sort-of liveblogging in General News if you want to go look).
In the event, the Scottish Nationalists (regional party who had commanded strong support in local administration but not in national elections) swept the Labour and Lib Dem-controlled areas of Scotland, contributing to a huge underperformance by Labour and a massive collapse by the Lib Dems.
Simultaneously, UKIP, a farther-right anti-immigration party, managed to get an enormous number of votes, but couldn't actually win the majority in any seat bar one, making them a party with influence far outstripping their actual power.
Overall, the Conservatives pulled off a shock by managing to increase their number of seats (last managed by an incumbent administration after a highly successful defensive war in the '80s) while running on a continued austerity platform, and actually winning a majority that enables them to govern alone.

Therefore, the current political situation looks roughly like this, taking major parties from left to right:

Labour: post-election, swung to the left when Jeremy Corbyn was elected on the back of a new wave of activists. Lost a lot of senior politicians in the election as their seats were sniped. Still noticeably the second-most powerful party.

The Green Party: Retained their one MP. Not a huge national concern, and seem to recognise that, while being happy that they have an official place in politics.

Scottish National Party: Suddenly a theoretical replacement for the Lib Dems as the UK's third party. In something of an awkward position because they're not used to this, because they are very much a regional party instead of a national one, and because an actual referendum on their major policy point (independence from the rest of the UK) was rejected before the election and they committed to not immediately trying again.

Liberal Democrats: Suffered an enormous body-blow, and decisively relegated after holding positions of government. A small fourth party now, with single-digit MPs.

Conservatives: Governing, and re-invigorated by the election's mandate. At the same time, their majority is thin, and they have to be concerned about UKIP's advance threatening their position as the sole major party for right-leaning voters. Divisions in the party are all the more significant when a few rebels can derail the government's agenda, and this is particularly stressed as Cameron advances toward a referendum he has promised on European Union membership, while still campaigning against leaving the EU.

UKIP: As mentioned before, in a bizarre position of having only one seat and being the joint-smallest party by number of representatives, but having taken third place in the popular vote. Still in the process of trying to transition from a party of protest to a professional party of real politics, and having enormous teething troubles along the way as eccentrics, crazies, and people who actually believed in their unrefined platform embarrass the leadership by saying what they think (i.e. a load of racist, homophobic bigotry).

4 million or something? Just checked it on wiki. As it happens, that's nowhere near the biggest refugee crisis in history - that title goes to the mass population displacement in the wake of WWII.

e: 11 million Wehrmacht POWs, 10 million non-German refugees many of who were originally taken to Germany as forced labor, 9 million internally displaced German civilians, 14 million Germans driven from their previous homes into the new borders of Germany.

Also you'd be surprised by how much shit the media tries to cook up. A while ago the police here had to issue an official statement because the media made up a rise in crimerate with the influx of refugees.

In one or two refugee camps they had to divide them by religion.

So it's better to just do the best we can with the knowledge we have. Our consciousnesses will be clean for all that's worth at least.

And what would that be?
I'm still not sure in what manner I should be mad that they want to add an exception for refugees to the minimum wage .

So then I take it that the UKIP is the UK's closest equivalent to the Republican Party here in the US? With the exception that they aren't one of the two largest parties?

That way would be to offer help when you can, not cause scenes and fire up hatred, and try to keep a cool head. Basically what my country is trying to do.

Yeah I know that but I still can get mad at the government.
I mean with that piece of legislation there isn't a side who shouldn't be pissed off, well besides business owners who get cheap quasi slave-labour.

Mmm, broadly.

Much less Christian, though I have no doubt they're more religious than the UK generally.
More blatantly populist (because xenophobia's their only sticking point and they can pivot all their other policies as necessary).
More overtly racist, because they're a specifically nationalist party.
Economically, less in bed with big companies, while still reasonably committed to the right-wing.
More dominated by a central personality: while many in UKIP seem to disapprove of Farage, he's the only one who's had any real success with the party, so they seem stuck with his leadership until a credible challenger arrives.

How intrusive is Christianity in daily life in the UK? Where I live at least it's virtually impossible to go a whole day without somebody quoting scripture. Or be not so silently judged for my atheism. My 87 year old grandmother(Whom I nonetheless love more than just about any other person in the world) rarely goes more than a week without complaining about how their should be more religion in the government and that there's a war on Christianity in the US. While simultaneously scoffing at all arguments that contradict such an idea.

I have never encountered any Christianity in daily life, if you discount people in the street trying to give you leaflets and what not.

Of course, our society is built on Christian tradition, but you know what I mean.

Christianity is rooted in our country's history. You can see it everywhere is you look hard enough, Churches, festivals and symbols. Yet church going has been on the decline for the last 30 or so years. These days a young person probably couldn't quote from the bible.

Still, I think a lot of people have a belief in some sort of god. Even if they don't see themselves as Christian.

Yeah, you can secularise the UK but you can't stop us saying "Bloody hell".

But, basically, what Strife said. There's some undercurrents, and I occasionally have to deal with the university Christian Society trying to give me food, but any actual intrusiveness is totally minimal. That can change in some parts of the UK - a few areas of a few cities where strict Muslims have congregated into a particular community, or parts of Northern Ireland where Protestantism is still taken as part of being a proper British citizen - but on the whole I can go months without religion impinging on my life in any noticeable way. Which is nice given we have an official state religion.
