Being mentally ill, mostly.

This included a dazzling spectrum of activities such as not eating, not sleeping, not getting out of bed, not getting out, stuff like that.

There was also drugs but we covered that already several times.

How exciting.

I didn't even know Columbus Day existed until I became an adult and it turned into a day when all the banks closed for apparently no other reason than to keep me from having money in my account to pay bills with.

"Celebrate genocide and enslavement Day" sounds really american, actually.

Because even if he isn't likely to get the nomination over Hillary, he still has poll numbers that are at least worth talking about. The others have basically nothing.

Neōteridzō. The ancient Greek lengthened their 'o's in roughly the same way as modern British people lengthen them under non-rhoticity, as in "for". Depending on your accent, perhaps the most global way to get it across is as "au" or "aw", like "saw", "draw" &c.

It's a pretty fun read, probably hit it up like 3-4 times a year.

Yeah, there was some talk of Drama CDs in some of the spare pages of a few of the chapters, but I could never find them by the time I actually happened upon the series. As for current VAs, I'm totally out of the loop, so I couldn't say. If they actually picked a male actor, dude would have to be somewhere between my own pitch and Mizuhashi Kaori's mid range, though be able to maintain that shit while being full of energy and not creeping into a fully nasal voice. Completely unhelpful because most of the people that still post here haven't heard my voice, but suffice to say that "your voice is a lot higher than it seems, but it's somehow really soothing" is something I here a lot from people who read what I write before hearing me speak. For reference, I'm a tenor.

Could probably go with a female actor who plays adolescent boys a lot, and work on just killing the excessive nasal to keep it countertenor~contralto range for best androgyny.

I quibble a lot with Aristotle in the details and where he overlaps with or deal purely with non-philosophical subjects, so him coming second was a bit surprising, but if you boil him right down to just teleology, I guess that's fine. (Similarly for Kant, while I appreciate his importance as a foundation and background, I prefer the way other people have used his work, rather than settling for his raw philosophy).

I disagree with Plato strongly as often as possible (and dislike him personally, which perhaps feeds into the first), so him placing that far up from bottom was somewhat odd.

I wouldn't have expected to get literally 0% on Augustine or Aquinas, because I don't think they're totally insane by any means, but the site seems to force a 0% score on you so lol.

As to the rest, I quite like bits from lots of them, and was surprised at their relatively low percentages.

Yeah, it would be kind of awkward to find a voice actor/actress who could pull off a feminine voice while still sounding passable as a male. Hpw did you get into the series? Also, this avatar is one of my favorite images of him in the entire series. Adorable.

Existentialism is a perfectly respectable philosophy, IMO. Nietzsche occasionally goes some weird places with it - partly because, y'know, he didn't have the best mental state - but part of the point of existentialism is its very personal remit, so that's to be expected and doesn't necessarily upset its essential basis.

(They might have used Kierkegaard if, as I'm positing, they're basically using philosophers as stand-ins for their respective trademark philosophies, but he has less ... brand recognition ... I think, and doesn't play quite so well into some of the questions about God that the survey wanted to use).

When my faggotry meter is charged enough, I'll just browse shit like Dynasty Reader, hitting funny sounding tags. I'll also binge read random martial arts comics for mixes of complete and utter comedy at the impossibilities and suspended disbelief for FUCK THE YEAH moments at the same time. If I had any real preference, it'd be true dark comedy, where seemingly insane things actually make the most logical sense due to the absurdity of situation, causing emotional discomfort due to identifying with the normally insane actions while reading, but realizing that I'd be a horrible human if I did it myself in any other circumstance.

Will I get a warning since I'm referring to my own perception of my tendencies, intended as completely separate from hurling slurs at people? For perspective, my sister is a lesbian carpenter and one of my best friends is gay, and I would never refer to either of their actions as faggotry (even with Nate's personal proclamations that he is a flaming queen, and no one disagreeing).

Those brackets were, in fact, the truth (and I'm glad I put them there), because I got that pretty badly wrong. Shouldn't rely on half-remembered mentions, apparently.

He's just as critical about reasoning as he is about sense data, arguing that even logical systems fail to be essentially verifiable. Concrete proof of anything is lacking - but, in consequence, one might as well take one's experiences at face value (thereby avoiding the nihilistic trap of pure solipsism), while just keeping in mind that nothing is necessarily true.

Hume is great. don't be scared. Dude just got to the end of his line of reasoning, decided he had enough fun drinking and playing board games with his friends, and thought that was good enough. (Severely simplified and not really reflective of all of the work he put in, but dude is legit amazing).
