Yes to all of the above.

Have some mayonnaise with your hard boiled eggs.
I like to keep my slime porn and my food porn separate, thank you.

You need more grease. Anytime someone says they don't like eggs, the problem is they aren't frying them in enough good thick bacon grease. Bacon greased eggs, some Texas toast, sausage and cheese, and I'll make a believer out of any egg skeptic with that sandwich.

You'd do better just to go to a sichuan restaurant and order this. Quality varies restaurant by restaurant, but there are variants that are *sorta* the same thing

My favorite variant is ma la dou hua yu, which is basically still with whitefish, but it comes with silken tofu rather than veggies

People (Leo and Christemo) say my arteries are probably clogged and I will die

For adults 18 and older, a normal resting heart rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute (bpm) Active people often have lower heart rates because their heart muscles don't need to work as hard to maintain a steady beat.

For distribution in Europe, Mondelez International, or Kraft, at the time, bought the rights to Pocky. They also changed the chocolate used and some other stuff to "better fit European taste."

Happily, living in a country with marmite does not actually oblige one to eat it.

For some context, Hershey recently brought a lawsuit in the US against import shops who were selling British Cadbury's chocolate on the grounds that, Hershey being licensed to manufacture Cadbury's-brand chocolate in the US according to a recipe tailored for the US, there might be detrimental confusion when the supposedly identical brand and similar packaging actually had a different product in it. Implicitly, the better-quality imported chocolate was costing them sales.

(And, as much as I loved touring the Cadbury's factory when I was young, Cadbury's is not an upmarket company).

But was the galley food made by enslaved children? You must factor in both the flavor and the moral crappyness as well.

Is there a strange European tradition of sending children to boarding schools? I was aware of the British boarding school stereotype, but had no idea whether or not to take it seriously.

Its not a tradition or the norm or anything, but its a thing thats still relatively big i guess. I mean its unusual, but not super-unusual.

I guess you could if you bring a cup; they wouldnt let you drink from it directly, that'd be unhygienic. Generally they put waffles there that you're supposed to dip into the chocolate.

Thats wildly different between individual ones; mine was like hundreds of years old (though its only been a boarding school for like 60 years), but we had a "rivalry" with another one that we played soccer against once a year that was all modern and all.

The one he went to was run, like most if not all Irish schools at the time, by priests who ranged from depressed to psychotic and they were fed only to legal requirements with extra food being provided if you were on a sports team so they would not actually starve. Their was no air conditioning meaning it was always damp and chilly. The student dorms were separated from a slaughterhouse full of pigs by about 50 meters, the screaming pigs would wake them up as they were slaughtered.
The school also boasts one very famous student who did a exchange there in the 1910's, Heinrich Himmler.

Some Irish priests used to be pretty impressively awful. The growth of Irish industry had started sucking people who would have traditionally joined the priesthood away from it so they basically started accepting anyone. That led too people who really should not have been priests joining the Church like people who wanted to gain extreme influence over the government and sociopaths who wanted to abuse that position in society. Those two groups played off of each other badly, like one of the sociopaths would be a pedophile and the people who wanted to keep influence would cover that shit up so the Church could keep it's vice grip on Irish politics. That all kind of exploded into scandal eventually though and now priests and the Church have way less influence and explicit policies that they will not try to integrate themselves with the government.

In the World Geography books(which were just given a new one this year) when describing the slave trade from Africa to the Americas it describes captured African slaves as "immigrants"(implying they came willingly) coming here to "work"(implying pay along with implying that they were legally considered people) on southern plantations. While conveniently leaving out bits that mention the atrocities committed against slaves.

That sounds about right. Although where I live the bit about the Civil War is often changed a bit. While slavery is explicitly mentioned in the books, basically everybody around here insists it was about "States rights". If you then point out that the specific states right they wanted was the right to own people as property they will then awkwardly deny this. Many of them also seem to be under the impression that the Jim Crow era wasn't all that bad.

do they realize that whats today known as the "confederate flag" isnt actually the flag the confederate states ran? Like, do they know that its a modern creation? And that the actual confederate states changed flags every 2 years until they got beaten because all of their flags sucked ass in different ways, like one of them looking so similar to the stars'nstripes that they kept mixing each other up on the battlefield, and another one beeing almost completely white so it kept getting mistaken for a white flag? Because i doubt they are aware of this.
