But that's really awesome! You should totally feel free to feel proud of what you are able to do, even if you can always get better at something. I'm really impressed with your abilities. The idea of not only being able to understand two languages but being able to communicate about one in the other is really, really impressive. You deserve to be complimented for doing that and sharing it with people who can't.
Dem compliments.

Listen, I don't know where you get all this time for ovens preheating and stuff. Or do you use your giant forms to go chop firewood and cook over open flame???

Although, I cooked tonight. I made actual chicken from raw chicken instead of pre-cooked saline-filled chicken. I had this package of pre-mixed sauce that was actual ingredients too -- lemon, rosemary, garlic, and white whine. It was awesome.

In my culinary class, one person attempted to bake a potato in a microwave.

After about twenty minutes, the potato caught fire.

Fire was good for human civilization.

This was originally intended as a reply to Beamu but works for Frosty, too.

... Did they poke holes in it first??? I'm pretty sure you're meant to do that if cooking a potato in the microwave.

Gl❀w

Yeah you're supposed to slice the potato on both sides and generally about 2.5-4 minutes per side should do the trick depending on potato size. Your mileage may vary.

Internal pressure can ruin a baked potato so this is convention. However, by the time a potato dehydrates and combusts, the question of a poked hole has long since ceased to matter.

I hate baked potatoes, why do people love them so much.

Half the time when there's a ridiculously long line in the cafeteria to get something it ends up being because it was baked potato bar day. Of all the things.

I once got a dinner at Texas Roadhouse. A steak, a salad, and a baked potato. The potato was so huge it was comical. It was like a football. I have experienced this. I did not ask for it. I know, right? How is this cost effective for the restaurant? And I regularly see this if I go there. Some people get normal potatoes. Other people get these. Why???

Potatoes are fucking cheap to buy and restaurants have at least a 400% markup on the food they sell.

Movie theatre sizes are different from normal sizes and it was one of those automatic sales pitches the attendant is supposed to give you. My friend was ordering and the guy behind the counter was like "For just 1.50 more you can have two large drinks instead." And my friend was like "Sure!" And we received our drinks and realized our mistake.

When I went to the place with the ridiculous potato, they gave me free refills on raspberry lemonade. It was REAL LEMONADE, not soda fountain lemonade. And it had a very visible, beautiful section of raspberry syrup at the bottom. It looked like a mixed drink and was close enough for me and I could still drive home. It was beautiful and all the fun of fancy alcohol with none of the side effects. And they gave me as much as I wanted. For $2. This is the best experience I have ever had as an American.

Streamlined parts selection, then you can further customize size & position to a limited degree. It keeps the variables in mind as well to make different facial expressions available for use. It's high-res, so essentially it lets you set a ratio you want to crop and resize it too- it's also very helpful for making quick VN/RPG sprites for text conversations.

I can't afford to be more ambitious than that, it's hard for the wallet.

moreover according to you setting foot in a casino at all entails having a gambling problem

I would argue that gambling in a casino and expecting to make money is, in fact, indicative that one has a gambling problem, but that's not the issue at hand here.

Since you're claiming that buying a lotto ticket every week is not a gambling problem, let's start with considering the bare minimum lotto expected value. Since I've been talking about Powerball I'm just going to use those odds and prize values. For the sake of brevity I'm just going to list grand prize values, their respective expected values, and their net gain/loss, assuming a ticket cost of 2 USD and that the grand prize doubles every time no one wins (fuck if I know how it actually is).

40 million USD, 0.47 USD, -76%
80 million USD, 0.60 USD, -70%
160 million USD, 0.88 USD, -56%
320 million USD, 1.42 USD, -29%
640 million USD, 2.52 USD, +26%
1.28 billion USD, 4.71 USD, +135%

Since you're the one that brought up casinos, let's compare these to another game of chance, Roulette. The best odds of winning in Roulette are when you bet Red/Black/Odd/Even. In the US you have a 47.37% chance of winning, and winning means you end up with twice what you bet (i.e. 2 USD bet -> win -> 4 USD (your original 2 USD + the 2 USD you won from the bet))

A risk analysis on this bet shows that for any particular Red/Black/Odd/Even bet, your expected value is 4*0.4737 = 1.89 USD. In other words, you lose 5.26% of your money every roll.

If we compare this to the powerball example I came up with, it requires 5 drawings in a row of no one winning before the powerball's grand prize is comparable to what you could get from a casino. Assuming a 50% win rate on the powerball (again, fuck if I know a better), that means there is a .5^5=3.125% chance of such a lotto occurring, and a given year has a maximum of 30 such grand prizes occurring (2x drawings per week -> 154 drawings a year)...
------------
Ah fuck it, I've spent too much time on this damn post and don't really care to continue. There should be sufficient information to deduce that playing the powerball every drawing, or even every week, is a terrible idea given the expected value of the most probable grand prize values, and is extremely worse than odds you can find in a casino. In short, yes, I would say you have a gambling problem if you do this every week.

As for your other post mentioning different products you can buy, there's a big difference between buying a product that has its own inherent value versus something that's completely worthless if it doesn't pan out. Yeah, Starbucks is overpriced coffee, but it's still does what you expect coffee to do. That little paper slip you get for a ticket is basically worthless since there's nothing you can do with it if it's a dud.

Mcjon01
January 14th, 2016, 02:20 AM

Yeah, it's a long shot, isn't it? I'd have to draw like hundreds of parts for each category, then sell the app for a dollar. Probably cheaper than that, to get people's interest.

Wish I had Live2d. That can really help set it apart when you can use them as virtual avatars for chatrooms, but eh that's just wishful thinking at this point.

I'm watching someone play through the VN and he's on UBW. Archer's sword rain was actually dangerous once. Either that or it's a mistranslation and it's always been useless for some reason.
