The barrel looks weird. It looks more like an autocannon than a bona fide tank gun so it seems out of place with the superheavy-looking body. From the braces that look like gun rail mounts, is it supposed to be a railgun?

It's meant to be a Gauss cannon. The segmented parts being the multi stage coils and the rails just for sending current down or something.

Either way, Gauss/Rail weapons tend to work on small projectiles moving so damn fast that it hits explosively. So I figured the turret and the gun didn't need to be huge. But it needs a shit load of electricity, so the body has to be huge to accommodate a large generator.

Also its the Heavy Class for my final project game. Though don't ask for the game, project's essentially fucked, probably won't be a functional prototype at best. But I shall make them assets for my portfolio, and its art assets that will get me hired anyway...

I am assuming that's a mobile AA platform. In which case, I would like to point out if the enemy target is within a certain distance the railguns will bump into the sensors at the top (assuming the angle we're looking at isn't just being weird).

Well the pods at the top are meant to swivel up along with the guns, thus avoiding collision. They don't rotate independently, cause well as mentioned - collision. Though I would have liked to avoid that but due to indecisive design choices and a lot of fuckery in the way of creating it, shit happened and there we have it.

The pods at the top are actually meant to be repair beams. Though honestly, they look more like some sorta energy mortar cannons.

The triple barrel guns are meant to be lasers. Hence the greyish glass like material at the ends of them rather than the blackness of a hole. And yes, intended for some sorta AA-ish function.

Conceptually the tank is a Support-class vehicle, meant to provide cover fire against fast targets and repair allied units.

Given what they're supposed to be, instead of two pods that seem like they would interfere with the AA guns' swivel path, you could've just put one in the middle. Maybe modify that boxy hub the pods are attached to?

With it being modeled and textured to that stage, basically it ain't changing. Currently, they are to swivel in tandem which does fix the problem so heck. The way its made, modifying the boxy hub would constitute too much trouble. Also I think it'd kinda look odd without the paired look now.

I wasn't the designer for this tank and wasn't privy to change those pods. The team leader was basically adamant on having a pair of pods up there. I should have added more bits between the gun and the main chassis so the pods are clear of the main gun's rotation path. Since the guns are independent from the tank, it's something I can do.

There was an alternative design which I preferred, more solid traditional looking without goddamn airvents facing forward(talk about a horrible weak spot).

Haha yeah, those vents just scream "SHOOT HERE FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE!". And those guns don't seem to be able to aim lower. At least with the M1A2, you'd have to flank it.

Got any amphibious models? Or IFV's?

The game concept is a rigid class based vehicle vs... robots game. Though the game isn't coming together so we just got a pile of assets. Normally combat vehicles would have some sorta co-axial machineguns in and around the place, but well we decided not to slap things we couldn't use on.

I was in charge of 2/4 of the classes for the vehicle side, so that's it from me. There's a light hover skimmer and medium tank besides these two.
