Possibly one of the top Neon Genesis Evangelion fanfics out there

NGE Nobody Dies (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5579457/1/NGE_Nobody_Dies)

Summary : What would happen if we had everything we ever wanted? What if certain tragedies, in the past, were averted? One would normally think this would make a better world. Some old traumas could be gone. But the new pains could be worse.

I still remember the NGE one where Shinji played Warhammer 40k in his childhood and became a man.

That one...I'll admit I'm a tad bit tsundere toward Shinji and Warhammer 40K. On one hand, it is indeed one of the greatest works of fan fiction ever, with awesome...everything, pretty much. On the other hand, some of the plot is stupid, most if not all of the characters are either Sues or totally stupid, and it can be even more pretentious than NGE itself at times.

I can understand why it is recommended. And I can agree with that, but...meh, I suppose it's just personal preference, as always.

Negima fics, go!

Child of Mine (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3047220/1/Child_of_Mine) - A look at various alternate futures, each one with Negi marrying one of his students, in an attempt to find out which timeline Chao comes from. Some of them are awesome, some funny, others sad.

Liquid Heat (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5795533/1/Liquid_Heat) and Taken Day by Day (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5863677/1/Taken_Day_by_Day) - A look inside Tsukuyomi's head while having her live at Mahora under Setsuna's watchful eye. Shenanigans ensue~

Egg Belly (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4078106/1/Egg_Belly) - KonokaxSetsuna, happens after one of them finally declares their love for the other. More shenanigans~

Hmm...let us see.

Yang Yin (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3131342/1/Yang_Yin): In a world gone horribly wrong, Ophanimon's Legendary Warriors are out to destroy the world. It's up to Cherubimon's own team to fight them. But this fight is personal.

And If That Don't Work (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4673040/1/And_If_That_Dont_Work): See for yourself.

Cross with .hack: hackEVA Catharsis (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3581460/1/hackEVA_Catharsis): Because Alfie is awesome.

Cross with ZnT: Points of Familiarity (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6038980/1/Points_of_Familiarity): On one hand, a young mage who begged fate for something that would validate her reason for being. At the other, a young man who sought the desolation of his existence. Where they meet, is the terror that would shake the very foundations of magic.

I've read so many fanfics I'd vigorously recommend to anyone, and forgotten most of them.

I'd remember if I took the time to browse through the copies I've saved to my harddrive, but for now...

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5144486/1/Infinity -- Here's a Lyrical Nanoha fanfic that says, "The series was more fun back when the mains were still kids and they were turning off doomsday weapons every half a year like hitting a snooze button on an apocalyptic alarm clock." It doesn't actively toss out the third season though, as Lutecia's mother, the three brains and Jail Scaglietti make cameo appearances.

This fic falls under "Original Flavor", though with a slight emphasis on humorous dialogue from the original cast, which is supported by the differently-sane personalities of the new antagonists. So the story is not only interesting and well-written, with entertaining fight scenes, but you also get plenty of laughs.

The tradition of antagonists being sympathetic anti-villains is also faithfully upheld, with some exceptions. Because the real key to success is balancing repetition with change, to keep things continuous yet fresh.

Fans of the series who were irritated that certain characters got increasingly left behind in the second and third seasons (Yuuno, Arf, Chrono, Hayate) will also be happy to see these familiar faces having a fair share of the screen time and their own crowning moments of funny and awesome.

Fans of Signum will also get to see her Having Fun.

So will fans of Yuuno.

I'm still looking forward to Hayate's "duel" with one of the new enemies, ever since I mentioned the possibility to the author and he jumped on it.

^Fun fact: it's written by the guy that did Chaos Theory.
