Yeah, but why wouldn't you just type the IMG tags for yourself instead of going through the button? It's quicker on a fast connection, nevermind a slow one.
People using the insert image button are lured by the "from computer" option, fall into the attachment trap and it results in a worse experience for everybody.
This honestly isn't some kind of funny meme that I've concocted, it would be a small change and be a genuine improvement.
There is no reason to keep it around anymore besides "But changing the website is haaaaaaaard."
Okay, there's a chance that removing it could cause a bug that crashes the entirety of Beast's Lair, but can't everything?
pls pester the admins until they submit to the will of the people, mods.
So talking to DP has enlightened me that removing the ability to attach would also prevent usergroups from adding content to their albums as well.
General consensus was, if you don't like it, you don't have to use it, and are perfectly free to use Imgur and Mediafire or whatever sites you opt for for hosting. That it's better to have an option you have no need for than to remove that option and have something tangentially-related get neutered as a consequence.
Does anyone use usergroup albums either?
Same but usergroups.
He probably meant these groups and notgroups, I'm guessing.permissionuser
And yeah lol, I feel like they'd be an acceptable loss.
No way, how else will users organize underground crime rings here.
We do have some usergroups which were active in the last few weeks, so I guess they still just about have a use. But the albums haven't been used in years.
Don't the fan club threads pretty much serve the same purpose?
To my knowledge there has never been a usergroup organized as either an accessory to a fanclub or a vehicle to a joke.
You mean for other than those two reasons?
Yes, thank you.
While they're certainly welcome to, for some reason people are more keen on making superficially clique-like groups on places like Skype or IRC than on here.
