Welcome to the next generation of Beast's Lair.
So, a forum upgrade. You all knew that. What you didn't know, however, was the fact that I bought the CMS module for the forums.
What's this mean to you, you ask? Well:
- I'm sure you noticed the blogs tab up top. Every user can now run their own little blog, and it can be on damn near anything. Multiple categories, the works. This way, forum topics should be a bit leaner and cleaner, and they provide a second avenue of discussion.
- There is a new front page, as I'm sure you'll see when you head over to nrvnqsr.com.
(forums.nrvnqsr.com will now redirect to nrvnqsr.com/forums instead. Forum refactoring restored the original URLs; blog and CMS have been split off instead.) This front page, ideally, will contain all sorts of news for Type-Moon, Beast's Lair, and so on. So if there's a translation project, or a new release from Type-Moon, or some important community news, this will be a go-to page for that information. - Furthermore, the front page will also keep track of recent blog entries and recent posts, so no more looking in "What's new?" for the most recent posts. (You can of course still do this if you wish.)
I'll likely be updating the CMS as things go along. Please keep in mind that there may be a few things broken due to the upgrade; if you find anything broken, please tell me (ideally via one of my instant messenger names) so I can try to get the problem fixed. I'll also look into updating/adding future stuff to the CMS as well, but right now, "get it running" was more important than "get it perfect."
Feel free to leave your comments/questions here! I look forward to them. :) And as always, big thanks to dovac for helping me out and getting everything exactly the way I wanted it - it took no small amount of SQL Database trickery to get things just right.
