Man they really think of everything
Is there still hope in the Christian God? I hope he is well portrayed.
God has been mentioned a couple of times by the Christian Servants like Jeanne, David, Solomon. We know he's real going by what happened to Solomon, but we don't know anything other than that. We don't know what he is and how he compares to the other pagan gods in the setting.
Inb4 he's just the voice of someone from the Root.

Or a tyrannical douche like SMT version of him.

But at the very least, I hope he's not just a floating face who spams Megidolaon.
No thank you very much. I've already gotten tired of the SMT interpretation. No matter how it is it just rubs me the wrong way only seeing one facet get focused on and exxagerated.
I hope he's just a gooddoing his best for humanity, we at least know he cares about us according to Jeanne.higher dimension existenceguy
Sounds like the SMT one, on the surface.
idk, seeing that Buddhism, Hinduism and even Shinto has equivalent of YHVH and Nasu's syncretism habit, I can see him going with all of these supreme beings are just avatars and manifestations of the Root.
Manifestation of the root is fine. It's just being a dick part that would annoy me. He can be as pragmatic and even strict and unfair as he could like, that's fine and we have seen that in Solomon. It's just that if he doesn't have the trait of omnibenelavance, an inherent kindness. And just act like he is in SMT which is no morals robotic badguy. That wouldn't be cool.
I mean, I haven't played the SMT game yellowhead mememan YHVH comes from, but what you described is pretty much the typical SMT Law approach: We know what's best for humanity, so we're gonna enforce our order and send the dissidents to the pits of hell, forever and ever AMEN. A whole lot of good intentions with a host of unpleasant results. (And to be fair Chaos tends to wind up more or less the same on the results front).

If you go by Meiji era Shinto where they wanked Amaterasu to the one true god (to fortify the status of the imperial court) then maybe. But Nasu is going with the ancient Shinto afaik, so we're safe from that. The Root in ancient Shinto is Amenominakanushi who is similar to Varuna in Hinduism and there are like 6-7 generations of kami it gave birth to prior to Izanagi and Izanami, so Amaterasu is way way down the line. Buddhism's version of the Root is Adi Buddha Vajradhara which has no actual form. The 5 great Buddha's (Vairocana/Amaterasu is one of them) each represents a quality of Vajradhara but they are not manifestations of it, because they only represent the quality specific to them.
In order to help a friend out, I need to have a few questions answered:
- Kairi took a dead baby hydra as payment, not a hydra embryo, right?
- What is his gun loaded with? (I don't remember beyond those toes? being imbued with Gandr.)
- What is the glowing thing on Siegfried's chest? Is it a scar, or some sort of glyph?
1. Dead hydra baby
2. His gun is only loaded with necro/gandr finger bullets.
3. Cosmetic. Though it could be the mark of Fafnir Bryn talked about in regards to Sigurd but all we have at the moment is that it's just a cool glowing pattern he got when he bathed in dragons blood.
Fafnir has that glowing thing too
Maybe its just there to signify fafnirness
Do we know that though? As far as I understand it, that was just Mikiya's speculation. I'm hesitant to accept his speculation as truth because I don't like the idea of taking that tie with God away from Jeanne.
Unless a lore bomb is released and God turns out to be Alaya.
