Because I find it to be boring, simple as that. A twist that doesn't serve to engage a reader is a twist that shouldn't be written. I'd have enjoyed it more if it were Medusa instead of Raikou representing Eva, as it would show how first impressions can be wrong while still showing why it's important that Gudako sees everyone as they do.
This was fun, felt bad that I waited until the last day to read the whole thing so everyone had come to a conclusion already
Wouldn't Medusa turning out to be the younger sister have been too obvious though? That's not something we overlook because of our preconceptions, that IS our preconception.Quote:

Just because it failed to engage you doesn't make it a failure overall. Once I realized Raikou might not be the mom I had fun trying to guess at how else my preconceived notions might be misleading me, so the twist served to actually engage me where I originally didn't care much as I'm not a fan of the mystery genre.
You also still haven't explained how it was "in poor taste", unless that means something very different to than the standard meaning of that phrase.
Edit: Oh, and, yeah, how does portraying the younger sister with Stheno's actual younger sister show how first impressions can be wrong?
Smething something they look alike but Medusa is big so she's the mom and Stheno/Euryale look alike so they're the twins
Medusa can work as either the mother or sister. If the sister, we have two sprites that show similarities in appearance but not being identical twins, as well as contrasting personality types that don't necessarily match the Servant. If the mother, physical similarities remain plausible enough for drunk Aaron to make his comment about Juliet and her mother, and it would reflect the mother's/Medusa's willingness to bloody her hands to protect her daughters (Euryale and Stheno).
The physical similarities are irrelevant to any character other than Guda though.
I think Raikou works fine because her entire deal is being a mom while Euryale is known for being Stheno's sister so the player can instantly jump to that conclusion without thinking about it, whereas if it was between Medusa and Euryale who should normally both be the sister you would probably think "wait, which one is the mom" for a second at least.
Yeah i agree with koto.
It was setup so that we need to throw away our bias of raiko being a ‘mother character’ and euryale being a ‘twin character’. It works because it’s the trait that is usually associated with them the most. Since quartz are on the line they probably don’t want to make the guess too hard, so it’s only a test if people can throw away their preconceived bias about the characters they warned. So i don’t think it would really work with other characters.
Binged read the entire first part of Kogetsukan yesterday and gotta admit the writing is pretty damn good
Still i'm so shit at this detective stuff though, i read it as if i'm just reading a normal novel and didn't manage to notice the clues until seeing people pointing them out
Can totes relate
Ending is out. Harriet was indeed the mom, and the culprit, not like that's a big shock to anyone.
Spoiler:
Pretty nice read, though I find it amazing how easy it seems that people can pull Guda in to help and he/she usually does the job flawlessly.
I also actually thought it was Dorothy. Oh well
New meme:
Lancelot is still MC's father-in-law who has no blood relations with his kid.
Mashu in real life, Juliet in the case.
I just realized
Lance is the adulteree instead of the adulterer this time
Sooooooo... Aaron fathered all the kids except Cain?
Yes, your powers of random guessing are truly formidible
