Try adding ligher colors for the shading/gradient on the bangs. Especially for light colored hair and skin, try to minimize using black and only as an accent when necessary or where they don't get...

I'd like to see what can spriting and art work you can do. Are you able to draw original battle animation sprites (the ones that are 150 pixels tall) without tracing or using a base in the WERK style?
