Just to confirm, yes, Excalibur Proto only needs 7 Restraints; it's just that in the battle against Gilgamesh, apparently all 13 were unlocked.

As of late I've been wondering about a few things about Fragments's ending and a little bit about Excalibur Proto compared to other Noble Phantasms in the Fate/ universe.

I could just hear an enhanced version of "Sword of Promised Victory" play when Excalibur was unleashed. Saber truly tried his best to right everything wrong.

It is somewhat unfortunate that we may never know all of the 13 Restraints for Excalibur. Hopefully Fate/GO will do something for us on that or even maybe an expansion or author notes on Fragments.

I almost feel sorry for Manaka. She only wanted to do it for Saber. Her yandere life ended kind of sadly, but she deserved it too. ;-; I'm conflicted.

My assumption, based on that CE, is that those 7 shooting stars all merge to become one star: Stella, thus furthering the title of "Stella: Lone Meteor."

To actually be able to create Stella, he needs to die, because the effect is just so incredible. And anything less than a Stella has no considerable effect that's useless.
