don't quote me on this
Soooo maybe something about being part of the group/wishing to care for... suitable for old families heading the Clock Tower. Or just a phrase ole Eggplant liked the sound of?

Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
Fortunately, I do!
You should know what third person, singular and present are. If not, ask Santa for something that'll put you out of your misery.
Optative is used for a bunch of things in Ancient Greek. It's used for wishes ("If only..."), possibilities, ("would/could/etc"), indirect speech (he said that...), as a condition (if ...), or the bullshit that is the optativus obliquus.
Though I'm probably forgetting quite a bit, it's been 2.5 years since I had Greek.
I always thought Barthomeloi was just Bartholomei with the end scrambled to make it ~magus-like~

Full OED print version dropped on my head from Santa's sleigh do it? He wouldn't even need to stop if I was outside!
Other than Bazett and Aoko, what other magi are experts at hand-to-hand combat? Have any of them used spells to somehow enhance their dodging abilities, instead of only enhancing their damage reductions?
I've heard Luvia's pretty good at it, what with the "Lancashire-style of martial combat" (AKA wrestling) and all.
Did Kiritsugi used his time accel thing to dodge also?

Right, I had forgotten that! But enhancing their speed and reflexes is something theoretically any magus could learn how to do, right? I was thinking of more esoteric stuff, like:
- a spell of limited precognition to predict the path of an attack and move out of the way in time;
- a spell of "reverse reversal of causality" - the attack hit, but then it didn't;
- a spell for the magus to instantly and temporarily turn into mist, a living shadow or something of the sort so the attack passes through them;
- a spell that deflects objects made of wood and metal away from the magus;
- and so on and so forth. Things like that.
But she relies primarily on her jewels, much like Rin, right? Then again, considering how many missiles Aoko fires off in "Melty Blood", she's probably not a pure melee fighter either.
