The more pressing question is why the heck did Gil shoots ONLY swords in the first place he can just shoot an axe or a lance and it'll be over.. EMIYA's projection is focused on swords that's why they gain rank that is 1 below the original... so why AUO?

Not only swords. Anything related to a sword that has a blade. The "sword" Heracles used isn't a sword at all, but rather a stone slab used as a weapon.
Heck, Shirou can even Project shields and armor if he needed to. Except he doesn't simply because swords are his affinity and it's easier to Project in the first place. Why bother with a spear that can turn a battlefield into something resembling a minefield when he can just use the same sword over and over again at a much lesser expense on his prana?
And in the VN, IIRC, Gil only shot things out of his Gate to try and get at Shirou. He was haphazardly chucking weapons at Shirou, but Shirou's Projections were too fast and countered the spam by just being there.

That's why he should've just shoots thing other than swords in the first place .. Hercs weapon is an axe sword hence a sword in concept .. The projection value for swords gets boosted by two ranks while non-sword projections are stuck at C (I was referring to the Fate Complete Material btw) that's what I don't understand even in the VN all and I mean all scenes where Gil rains NP's it all involves swords most of the time.. (Is Gil another sword fanatic ? sword fetishist ?)

Huh. I was under the assumption that in Unlimited Blade Works, all weapons are ranked as they should be when the Reality Marble is deployed. Did I remember wrong?
Yes, because being in UBW just means everything's ready to use. It doesn't change the rank of the weapon stored.

That said, Shirou can still overwhelm Gilgamesh weapon rank notwithstanding in the Reality Marble if Gilgamesh isn't taking the fight as seriously as needed.
