I though a 'dhampir' was what happened when Arc got caught in a thunderstorm?

For APo you can probably count the days

i mean if excalipointer only took 1 life, I'm going to guess golden slash is going to be same if fatal.
exacali-slash may be more

Excalipointer was just fired at range vs slash which was going to land more or less clean against a vital point. to me that's the difference in that weak sauce Excalibur saber did out in the woods and what happened when they landed a simalar blow with caliburn after they got inside herc's guard.
But that is my own interpretation, of course
"An ideal is only an ideal after all. As long as you embrace that ideal, the friction with reality will continue to increase. So you will someday face reality and will have to pay for your compromises"
Was it point blank? I thought saber was standing a decent distance back, would have to rewatch.
I dunno, would have to check. But considering caliburn wasn't named in the woods, it....probably...was not activated against berserker and it didn't blow up hilt and all, also killing shirou and saber so I don't think it was a broken phantasm. The last option that fits is saber pumped mana into it and used it for a golden slash. And with a weaker sword then excalibur a really clean blow was worth seven lives.
EDIT: rewatched. Yeah it was closer then I remembered, my mistake. I forgot how much I liked the music in the anime. Anyway, I suppose if for whatever reason you dislike the golden slash idea...who was I was talking to originally, trubo? I suppose the next most obvious answer is saber was planning to do that

ah, thanks!
how does twin arm black hole thingy works/connected with his hand NP?
like, does being able to do any kind of magecraft foundation + connecting his circuit with a shitload of prana = makes you able to create black hole

@Tobias: that would make sense too. But the way the scene is phrased makes it seem like Herk's primary concern is trying to land a hit on Saber and failing which is obviously frustrating. Cue him overextending himself and opening up a solid opportunity for a clean hit from Saber.
the only way for Saber in VN to take a life is losing IA and bursting Excalibur and we don't really have a clear indication that was what was going to happen, besides anime which is its own canon. What I've been saying is that the VN scene has different dynamics and moments that the anime failed to present.
dont appreciate that snide aside too but whatever
Could Angra Mainyu/Grail overpower or even consume Arcueid?
Well if anything it would probably put her in berserk mode I guess.
