I'm pretty sure they kind of dropped that idea because it was never mentioned again (and no mention about it in the Apo Material as far I remember). There were also claims of the Ruler class being Apo only, and that was disproven. At the very least it's not like the whole "no Moon Cell in no-Extra setting" that get's mentioned once in a while.
To be fair, when Apo was being written I got the impression they didn't know what kind of direction they wanted to take for Fate as a whole too.

The possibility of a Ruler being summoned to sort things out gets brought up in Strange Fake so it's definitely not Apo only. I mean Fransesca then says it won't happen, but that people in SF even knew about the system says something.
Nothing in Apo suggests it only happens in it just saying, that a Ruler could be summoned in different circumstances was also a thing that was brought up. Tho I don't think that was the point he was making.

Depends how far back you go, we know that 14,000 years ago there was human civilizations serving under the Gods, and after that all got wiped out human civilization pretty much followed the same as history's but with magic. Anything before that tho we don't know

Just found a guy on fb who's insulting me (someone asked Karna vs Gilgamesh) because I took as exemple Gilgamesh beating him in CCC, I know there is RPG elements in here but that's still also not any random RPG and it is a fact Nasu wrote this with those servants particularly and he let you choose one of the four heroes to defeat Karna in all their respective routes too. So what can I say to calm him down without him trying to continue anymore (or should I just avoid him, still I find it quite irritating that people like him insult you because you give your opinion, it being right, wrong or both... Why are we always meeting people like this behind our screen :'( )

Yeah, you're right, I didn't know how to answer to this at first (I'm not used to this at all haha), but yes, now that a little time has passed and i've taken some step back, there is no reason to listen to someone who just came to attack you in the first place anyways.

How does the artifact used in summoning determine whats brought forth?
would avalon always draw saber in a servant battle, for example?
does it depend on whether or not one is the owner of the artifact or remnant of their life? does it vary based on the type of heroic spirit they are?

It depends on how connected the HS is to the catalyst. Avalon would always draw Artoria because simply it's her NP, an uncountable part of her person legend. Catalysts can get more vague tho, like say a fragment of the Round Table, with a catalyst like that you are guaranteed in drawing one of the knights that sat on it, but as it's not keyed to no knight in paticualar you can't control who do get. So it's stuff like that, if a catalyst has only connections to one HS, then you will get them, while if it's not concrete and it could apply to multiple HS you will get the one that matches your personality the most.
