I can't remember who it was that said this (I think it was You) but apparently according to GoA Saber didn't use Excalibur during her final battle with Mordred since it's light had already vanished by then due to her heart breaking, which is why she used Rhon.

What we do know for sure is that Rhon was busy being stuck in Mordred's abdomen and that Saber had the sword when Bedi found her, so it stems to reason that it was the closest thing she had next to her at the time.

I mean mordred did take semi out of commission, and she herself doesn‘t have s reason to hold on as long as possible unlike semi. Like this isn‘t even a situation where she failed after all her effort, but more doing her job then leaving without watching the fireworks.

I guess the appropriate question would be: if she made the pact at Camlann, do we know at what times she "dreamed" the events of zero and stay night respectively? I wonder if zero was when Bedivere found her at Camlann (I want to assume Bedivere actually found her there) while stay night was when she was carried on the horse (before she instructs Bedivere to throw the sword to the lake).

The explanation that Saber gets summoned with what's more famous doesn't make sense because if she could be given NPs she didn't have on hand she should've gotten Avalon. Plus there's Artoria saying she can only be summoned as Saber.

If you think about it, Avalon being lost and causing the downfall of King Arthur is an important part of her legend, so it makes sense that she wouldn't have access to it due to some conceptual thing or other.
And she doesn't have access to Rhon for the same way Caster Cu doesn't have his Gae Bolg despite it being a huge part of his legend, because it's a different "version" of her.

Comparisons to Cu are gonna be wrong because Artoria is not dead and the Heroic Spirit is not being drawn upon, the alive person is. Insofar as FSN is concerned, there is no different versions, as the one praying at Camlann is the only one you're gonna get.
