Is there any case for pre-humans in any of the TM works? It's my understanding the World didn't start trying to tell humanity fuck off until they became actual Homo Sapiens.

In TM pre-humans may not actually have existed in the scientifically-validated form anyway since dragons and gods and all.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. If pre-humans were good enough to survive and evolve with all the dragons and stuff around, you'd think they never would have gone extinct/had to evolve themselves.

I'd imagine they were JUST good enough to survive but not comfortable, like real pre-humans.

Gilles is a heroic spirit. Heroic spirits are still the only things that get summoned aside from wraiths like the Hassan, Angra Maiyu didn't change that.

Anti-heroes couldn't be summoned before the corruption, yes. This wasn't based on alignment though, Atalanta is Neutral Evil and can be summoned in Apocrypha where the grail isn't corrupted.

EDIT: Actually anti-heroes were allowed to be summoned in Apo by Darnic's mods so that's not a good example, but the point remains that alignment isn't how heroic spirits are determined to be anti-heroes, although the majority are obviously evil.

Looking it over, the profile doesn't say it outright. One line arguably implies it, but there's no mention of the Throne of Heroes so maybe it's just Chaldea that can summon him.

Gilles as a General is a normal HS, Gilles as Caster tho isn't. It is because of the grails corruption he could be summoned in that form

He's still an HS either way, although yes getting summoned as a Caster was an abnormality.

A savior who is both worshipped and cursed in equal measure. That is an anti-hero.
That said, a pure anti-hero does not exist.
The closest thing would be those who do good despite being evil.
Assassin and Archer fall under this category.
Rider and Caster, on the other hand, are not proper heroic spirits, but they can't really be called anti-heroes, either.

He has assumably many fancy shields that block real good, though whether or not they can block things that Matt can block is a separate question depending on how the hell they work

Well Lord Camelot is unbreakable as long as the user's resolve holds and Gilgamesh has near infinite willpower so presumably he could block just about anything with it, but we don't know if whatever proto version of it he has works the same way.

According to (((Prillya))) Ko-Gil at least has Aegis which makes Lord Camelot pointless tbh
