Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
Is there anything from Nasu about what would happen if Rin had been adopted by the Matous instead of Sakura?
I have a vague recollection of seeing something on BL to the effect that the situation would be exactly the same as in canon except for the names being swapped. But my searches aren't turning up anything. Maybe it's a false memory?
O walls, you have held up so much tedious graffiti that I am amazed you have not already collapsed in ruin.
It's more like "fuckin should have got the other sis" when Sakura makes a mistake

That’s the entire section of Sakura’s private diary. Ahhh good stuff.

.Rin realizes that the attacks are not from the black shadow, but a magic Sakura possesses.
That magic of Matou is to bind others.
But Sakura is originally from the Tohsaka family, a shadow-user with an origin of the imaginary element, the imaginary number.
Matou Sakura is able to embody the black shadow to that degree because she has both of those attributes!

So Rin presumably wouldn't be able to create the shadow giants? Interesting. But would she adapt better to the Matous' absorption magic? Is that related to the Water element?
I mean Zouken had to alter Sakura's body to give her the Water Element so presumably.
I'll see your Black Grail Rin and raise you Black Grail Luvia.
Don't question how, just imagine.
