There are a couple of things Shirou can't copy but examine I think Ea is the only example we got so far

Go to the wiki for example. And look at how many conceptual weapons that are not weapons in the list. The kanji for 武装 can be used for weapons, armaments and tools for war, not just strictly weapons. It's more in the line of them using concepts as the method of attacking imo.

He did. In the Fate/Extra material book, especially the bunrei part. He was even so in the troll mood he said "oh btw the okuninushi who enshrined the mirror is like a god among gods (not even in the RL myth lmfao) but lul it's just a tease for now that's all u nerds need to know atm". Typical Nasu.

So what I get from all this is that the only real criterion about whether something is a conceptual weapon is whether Word of God says it's a conceptual weapon.

I literally just woke up so maybe this won’t make any sense to me later but I guess the distinction of a true conceptual weapon is that the attack IS the concept and it doesn’t just attack USING a concept. Like, Gae Bolg uses the concept of causality reversal to stab you, while Black Barrel attacks you by directly infecting you with the concept of “limited lifespan”

So how does that apply to defensive conceptual weapons like Rho Aias or Avalon?
