This fanart popped up in my twitter feed, and I started wondering what it was about, so I checked the JP wiki for any references, and Raikou's relation-blurb for Shuten basically says the same thing about harboring complex emotions and stuff. Is this something that's explored (more) in-depth in like Onigashima or something, or is it something entirely based in the folklore/historical texts? Because I don't remember reading anything like this, but I didn't read onigashima, so.
