I saw that on the wiki, but was sorta hoping for examples of it being in use, and what happened exactly.

Theoretically, would the idea of a regression to the age of gods that allows the dead to return, or awaken long dormant traits, be feasible?
I'd imagine so. Medea can brew some kind of potion of immortality, for instance.
The thing with regression is less about what it can do, it can do anything that's been done mythologically, but rather whether the person or creature in question has the qualifications to have it.
Usually, the things that have regressions are all from or linked to the AOG in some way. That or be a Sea of Estray magus.

I mean Ishtar has to go to the AoG version of Venus to fire it, so I guess the first question was answered a long time ago, in that Textures have the cosmology of the belief system that governs (?) them. Dunno about the second or third ones, maybe yes since Goetia wanted to remake the whole planet in his image.

He was going to go to the past and literally become a planet to replace Earth.
Apparently Quetzalcoatl was actually killing the soldiers of Uruk, but she also just instantly revived them afterwards to add them to her army.
Though, it might be easier with a physical Underworld where the souls of the dead are stored...

It appears that his goal is the erasure of humanity, but that is purely a means to the end. Goetia's goal is to "return to the beginning".
He no longer hold any interest, be it to mankind or to the future.
His desire is to go back before there was life on this planet, to go back to 4.6 billion years before, to observe the moment as the "celestial body" was born at this domain, and take in all of that energy.
That is, he wants to make himself the "new celestial body".
(From what did he start this reason and motive is told only on the original story on the game.)
However, not even Goetia is capable of time travel.
Soaring to the past requires an enormous amount of energy-----of magic energy.
For example, the quantity of magic energy accumulated by certain intelligent lifeforms, flourishing for 2500 years.
Should he able to convert the entirety of human history from 1000 BC to 2016 AD to magic energy, it will be enough magic energy to return and leap until the beginning of the planet.
The destruction of mankind----the incineration is only for this one thing.
For Goetia, mankind, from the time of his creation until the year of 2016, is no more than the first space rocket for the sake of returning to the sky of beginning.

but are those planets as large as the real deal?
as in, is Ishtar's Venus aa big as the one that Type Venus comes from?
Probably not, who knows? It's not like the Sun in LB 2 was huge either, so size might vary per Texture.
