Jinrui Aku actually means evil of humanity, but at the same time they are LOVE of humanity, like canaki explained. Hating humanity alone doesn't make you Beast candidate, you must have some sort of twisted love for humanity, a sort of love that cannot be accepted by humanity and that love is what drives you to harm humanity, what drives humanity to go against you. Any harm the Beasts caused to humanity are passing influences, they don't destroy humanity for the sake of it. Goetia destroyed humanity to use the energy as fuel to change the foundation of life, removing the concept of death for humanity. That is his love and pity for humanity. Tiamat is the earth mother goddess, she has a very instinctive and primal love for humanity eventhough she hates them for abandoning her. That is a sort of love which cannot be comprehended by humanity. Kiara also loves humanity and wants salvation for all life, but due to her past experiences and how she grown up, her perception of humanity was twisted.

Sure there is a Beast candidate who tried to destroy humanity but for the sake of her love for a wizard on the moon, which is why Gil called her a "new" one. But the concept is always hate together with love.

Which kind of makes it ironic that the story implies that mankind grows out of these factors when you could say a lot of characters exhibit that type of duality.

That, and implying that mankind just leaves the rotting Earth later to do the same to some far reaching planet in the future, makes it pretty funny to assume that humanity "matured".
Wouldn't the mature thing be to accept what was done with our part in it and rebuild the world instead of just leaving it to rot and then YOLO'ing to other planets, to inevitably fuck those over?
