I thought the current magic of the Edelfelts was modified runes through jewels via humoral theory, so doesn't that mean they still use plebe runes?

Also, that makes the Tohsakas by extension Rune users as well.

for all intents are purposes the theory is the same.
The moon cell body must be a digital body

I dont know, though even though it says there are only 18 runes I'm pretty sure there was more characters in that language then that or i think so at least.

Assuming 'ancient runes' is referring to the Elder Futhark (which is IIRC the oldest version of the runic alphabet that Cu uses), there are 24.

Nasu doesn't seem to be using proper Futhark, either Younger or Elder; he seems to be using the Armanen runes from German occultism, which do number 18.

That would be super disappointing, since the Armanen runes are a 20th century invention

The source from were the 18 runes of Odin cames from is a poem called Hávamál, where it tells how Odin got the runes and then in the next section describes 18 songs/charms believed to be these runes. That's from were most likely Nasu took the number 18, but the thing is in these sources we never get the names of the runes or how they look like just the effects

yeah my bad
the Rune section on CM3 profile of Cu just says "18 runes gained from Scathach" instead of primeval rune, so thats what i had used as reference
didnt realize the MR entry specifically said 原初.
