To be fair, he got compared to Royd. That'd make anyone upset.

Does anyone remember what Heroic Spirits have been said to be "great heroes" (大英雄)?

I remember Herc, Karna, Arjuna, Arash, Fionn, Cu and Sigurd being called that. I suppose Achilles too.

Aren't the Top Servants in Extella all called 大英雄

Now that you say it, maybe? It could be a requisite or another term for the same thing.

Wasn't also "Top class Servant" a thing?

A couple times in FGO Chaldea detects 霊基 having a 大英雄 scale of mana. But I think it doesn't necessarily mean "Top Servant?"

"Top Servant" gets used a lot more on the Moon Cell side which makes me think it's a specific designation.

Top = pretty strong and very popular, or worf obviously.

I always kind of assumed that 大英雄 was lingo for very famous/strong hero with a leading role in a myth.

that is what it means. So I thought it is odd that they are also somehow more powerful? Maybe they have special status in the Human Order too.

And maybe Moon Cell's "Top Servant" is derived from that?

Pretty sure Alex was called a Top Servant by Nasu in 2015 in strict FGO context.

Okay, I was quite sure I was right on this though. Guess I'll have to confirm my Fgo knowledge before answering from now onwards.

I tried to look for the meaning online but found nothing helpful or related. Is it a slang or something?
    Well, he wasn't insulting you.

He was insulting you AND someone else, because that's the kind of place this place can be at times.

He said he meant it as a harmless joke. There's a difference between an insult and a joke. I would know, I joke about my friends with my friends almost everyday. They sometimes get inspiration to get back at me, which I then use to on another friend. It's a great cycle of EUR(Experience(become the butt of a joke), Use(Make someone the butt of the joke), Reuse(Make someone the butt of a joke again)). P.S. I know that was weak.

You're not wrong in general, but Castor does deserve the benefit of the doubt. He intended it as a joke, it fell flat, it happens.

So why did the blades burst from Shirou in the 5th bad end?

    Fate Route day 9

Where Rider kicks Shirou out and he refuses to summon saber.

He hits the ground and the next thing that happens is that his chest is split open with swords sticking out.

Obviously it's a HF allusion, but why does it happen?

Q: During the Shirou VS. Rider scene in Saber’s route, why didn’t her daggers kill him? Was it because of the holy sheath embedded within his body? Or was it because his body had begun its swordification?
A: At that time, Shirou’s self-healing had already begun, but the nature of his regeneration was really quite indirect, “changing his muscles into blades in order to knit his wounds with swords.” That is actually what happened, regardless of what you saw during the scene in Saber’s route where Gilgamesh dealt him a mortal wound and Shirou appeared to have “masses of blades shaped like muscle fibers” in his body. So, Shirou’s innards are extremely durable. During the fight with Rider, she was able to injure Shirou with her stakes but it would have been more difficult and troublesome to fatally wound him, so she decided to kick him out the window instead.
Shirou's body grow swords in every route for some kind of attempt at self-preservation usually, it just take form differently because of circumstances. Just assume he fell at a awkward angle or something.
