I mean, magi frequently have more than one child as backup or just to grow the family/ use as political collateral for marriages (aka Sola Ui). The tragedy of Sakura wasn't that she was born, it was that she had such amazing potential it would be downright criminal to not educate her in Magecraft. That's why Tokiomi jumped at the chance to make her the heir of a respected magus house, even if it was in decline at the time.

Jack sounds closer to Cyber Ghosts then a Dead Face. Dead Faces don't seem to be something that exist outside of Moon Cell.

If a materialized servant flicks an astralized servant. The one in spirit form just dies.
