I remember that Gae Bolg being used on Caster's Cthulu monster was discussed a few times around here. That would seem to be a similar case to this.

Nope. The causality warping is his own technique, the thorns are inherent to the spear, but it's still a spear. It's human sized, designed to be used on human opponents. With a target that big, it'll either go Error: Target not found, or explode in Lancer's face.

I suppose they could be talking about a heart in a metaphorical sense in that the technique would strike whatever vital organ the creature has assuming the creature has such an organ.
