Idea:
On the second day of 5th day of F/SN, Saber acquires the F/SN anime and devours the whole thing in one sitting, being incredibly fascinated by how she develops and how she falls in love with Shirou, and seeing room for improvements.
The problem? It's not Fate that plays out, it's UBW.

I got one better for you. On Spacebattles they were talking about taking Saber from Fate's end and depositing her in the middle of some nightmarish blend of Heaven's Feel and Unlimited Blade Works. Poor girl doesn't know a damn thing about the truth of several things in the Grail War, so if she tries to go off her foreknowledge she'll just get owned. If you wish to be extra mean, have Shirou start falling for Sakura or Rin since it's their routes.

And Sakura gets saved because Saber sees that creepy old guy who adopted her and realises that he can't possibly be up to any good.

The idea went that things go very poorly for Saber at first, but she manages to pull through on the overt problems, but Shirou starts floating towards Sakura and Rin.

I've been in a kind of dark mood lately, so the idea kind of amuses me in a cynical way. She winds up doing everything right, but she doesn't trigger Shirou's protective instincts since she can handle everything on her own. It defaults her to a more bro like role like in UBW and HF. She realizes that 'oh shit, Shirou isn't looking at me like he did before!' and desperately tries to backpedal to get him back.

Actually, getting into the right mindset for another set of fics that I work on. It's a Madoka cross, so I got to get into a grittier mood to write it, and I've been writing it non-stop for the last week or so.
