Yeah, there's a lot of military detail in the novels that you can't really put into an anime, especially since most of the high school stuff ends after the last anime season (up to Owaru Day By Day, IIRC). FMP's anime is probably one of the best LN adaptations yet, strikes the right balance between keeping it entertaining and staying true to the text. Bump so i just read through volume 1 and 2 of Hyouketsu Kyoukai no Eden and it was pretty decent

I find "Legend of the Sun Knight" pretty entertaining.
So I'm reading Zashiki Warashi of Intellectual Village and I gotta say that Jinnai Shinobu is quite an awesome protagonist. The way the dude actually uses his brain is evocative of heroes of old who know how to manipulate situations to their advantage. His pet youkai, she's also a lot of fun.
It's proving to be a good read so far. Glad the second volume is coming out December-ish, but seeing work come out by Kamachi Kazuma that isn't his bread-and-butter series makes me want for that danged New Testament volume 6.
