Ryuuou vol 7 was great.
Ryuuou vol 7 was great.
Uwaa just seing the cute illustrations of young evileye in the side story will make it harder when she most likely gets killed in the main timeline.
"An ideal is only an ideal after all. As long as you embrace that ideal, the friction with reality will continue to increase. So you will someday face reality and will have to pay for your compromises"
Read vol 1 of 86 -Eighty Six-
the good:
-excellent and exciting setting, mecha military feels very fresh in the current climate
-the mecha in this are definitely pretty unique
-great illustrations, both chara and mechanical
the bad:
-suffers a bit from Akame ga kill syndrome in that its so evil it becomes laughable
-a little bit too much MC wank for my taste
Gonna continue with this series since the very strong setting carries it well enough, but I'm hoping for more screentime and developments for the other squad members.
I finished the first volume of 86 today. I really liked it, and I'm definitely going to keep reading the series. It opened some old wounds for me though, but not as badly as I thought it would.

Spoiler:
I 100% ironically read vol1 of mommyisekai thats getting an anime (not because of any silly mommy fetish I swear bros), and here is my review:
Imagne writing a milf fetish mommycon LN
but you keep repeating one phrase throughout it
over and over again
“my mother doesnt look like a mother, she looks like a 15 yo JK”
Why? Are you retarded? Are you having brainproblems? Aren’t you trying to appeal to milf hunters? Why deny them the milf you troglodyte. Ill kick your ass.
Good art though.
Judging from that alone I'm fairly sure this mother person is not an ara ara person. And thus, she's not a MILF.
Something
I find your anger highly amusing. If I didn't swear of most Isekai with male protags I'd check it out just to see what you mean

Speaking of Isekai, as more otome ones come out it becomes increasingly obvious that most of the Authors have never played an otome game and it's actually seems to be causing people to have misconceptions about otomes that are rapidly approaching "What do you mean BL aren't otome games?" Levels of frustrating to me.
I still give them a pass for now, mostly for comedy and because unlike their male counterparts I don't have to deal with direct video game references barring routes and events
Well the overlord side story is done, and it has gotta be the most happy and wholesome the series has ever been. It‘s nice seeing ainz just travel all over the place as he said he would if he wasn‘t transported with nazarick. Not to mention keeno is really endearing as well:
"An ideal is only an ideal after all. As long as you embrace that ideal, the friction with reality will continue to increase. So you will someday face reality and will have to pay for your compromises"
I honestly think its something the editors requested to make the work more “accessible” to the JK fetishising general audience, in the afterword the author talks about how hard it was pitching the idea to his editor. Oh and he also talks about the work being dedicated to his own mother who wants to read it which is pretty fucking cringe considering how incesty it is
To be completely fair, as much incesty it is, it does address some real parent-child issues in pretty good way. Despite being incesty (yes I said it twice).
Well, english release was cringy enough too. Apparently anyone who come to buy book and brought own mother got discount.
Started reading Infinite Dendrogram on a whim earlier this week, and to my surprise... so far i like it a lot. Tore through the first 3 volumes in 6 days, ended up buying all 9 vols. Theres a lot of things I find good about it but perhaps more impressive is it avoids very effectvely my personal triggers when it comes to this genre.
Couple thoughts
+great art
+worldbuilding/game setting explanation is interesting and engaging
+power system is cool and fun
+cast is pretty awesome
+male characters! Lots of them! And theyre important!
-authors sense of pop culture references is abysmal lmaoooo like jesus
-why cant people include world map illustrations in their damn LNs, this one would really have use of one
Finished vols 4 & 5 of Infinite Dendrogram. What a sick ass end to this arc, pure battle shonen hype. Kuma-niisan, the absolute and utter mad lad.
I hope the upcoming anime is good but I'm not expecting much from the trailer.
