I don't think that I have had hiccups since freshman year of highschool.

I've found that Longevity Breathing tends to murder hiccups. Have you tried that?

Longevity Breathing? As in controlling the rate of your breathing so it's as slow as possible? Yeah that works most of the time...especially when I'm not too impatient for the hiccups to go away.

Indeed. I've found that that usually kills hiccups.
It was my understanding that they're muscle spasms of the diapragm, so I decided to try stretching said muscle to work them out. Seems to do the trick most of the time for me.

My tips:

-Hold your breath and swallow three times.

-Even better one: Take a glass of water, hang your head downwards and drink water from the other side of the glass. It needs a little bit practicing, but helps me every time. (It looks quite stupid, so you might wanna be alone. )

i can only eat vegetables with the left side of my mouth, and meats with right side. i've tried to shift them to the other side before, and when i stop thinking about it, my tongue moves them back to their respective sides.

Whenever I get hiccups I simply convince myself that it is a genetical habit and that I shouldn't be having them. Works pretty much every time.

That's because your body controls which side of the mouth is used to chew with the autonomic nervous system.

Everyone has a "preferred" side that's mostly determined by the structure of your jaw joint.
