not quite, to use your metephor, what I am claiming is if an english karate instructor started an entirely new fighting style, and then used an english name for it, his name would be the correct enunciation, as he had created it and therefor had the right to name it
Except, that logic means the correct names for most non-Japanese TM characters are like:sure, I get what your saying, but see, I would say when we say karate or whatever, we are pronouncing it incorrectly, so, seeing as how its a name they actually came up with using the Japanese alphabet, I would argue that is the correct way of saying it, even in english

interestingly enough, I actually think of arc as "arukuiedo" because ciel pronounces it so distinctly in.....where was it, melty blood?

We're talking about Avalon here. Nasu's version is mostly a vast grassy field, with mountains and forests in the horizon. What would they eat? Grass? Saber was sleeping until she felt Shirou's presence with the change of the wind.
Also, Saber wasn't exactly dead and her eating served a purpose, since it provided additional energy.
