My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

Forest is a vampire who's a bit too good for her own good and doesn't know when to leave things alone. Armed with a ridiculously large hand gun, martial arts skills, a bitching pony car, and a love for pop culture she fights the forces of evil. Urban Fantasy 80's Style.

Here, Shirou is like a more successful "Archer", because he'll have her by his side for much longer than Archer did.

So beautiful.
This is just too awesome for words. It has the right amount of humor and drama. From the title, I instinctively thought it was gonna be a somewhat serious fic, but when I read about Ilya's body breaking down, I felt my heart lurch and was worried I'd follow after Irun. I'm so glad it didn't turn out the way I thought it was going to - Ilya dying within a year. Thankfully, Pata gave us the True End for Ilya. I am so freaking overjoyed that I feel like I should build a temple in your honor Pata for this fic.

First, awesome one shot. I love it.
Second, reading this fic and remembering that Ilya is dying because of supporting Berserker before the War and because she was the Lesser Grail. Her constantly healing and ruining her body with the souls of the Heroic Spirits makes sense. It just raises one question for me:
How is it that Sakura at the end of Heaven's Feel can survive having all that energy with no apparent effects despite being human and support Rider for years to come when Ilya, Miss Magic Circuits with a body, is dying from the same thing? If Sakura can survive it, why is Ilya in such a dire situation?

Nasu probably wanted it to be tragic. Since he probably likes Ilya. So he kills her.
