Haha yeah I just know the game of by heart (played the PS3 version a lot). Though it is my summer holidays so that probably helped.

Aah fuck it gonna go back to my xbox. Dwgr nerf really hit my DSS hollow thief Build hard, now she can't even wear pants or gloves or she winds up over 25%. Especially since i don't like using havel's ring

Enjoy it while you can, I guess, since when they release the DLC for consoles they're almost guaranteed to release a patch with all the nerfs at the same time!

Substituting demon's for dss now grumble grumble
So I had some time for a Dark Souls run:
Got into the sewer, was heading to the boss room.
Ran into a bunch of frog thingies.
See, here's the thing. My normal strat is to just hold block and wait to see the attack patterns of any enemy that I haven't seen before. So I held down block and waited.
All you Dark Souls vet should see where this is going. Those damn frogs breathe some sort of gas on me, and this bar thingie just starts to fill up. So I was like, "Well that doesn't look good." so I dropped the guard and killed that froggie.
And of course where there's one froggies there's another...and a second came from behind me and breathe that gas thingie.
And the bar got completely filled.
Long story short I got cursed. Getting cursed suck.
You know what's even more fun? Being cursed more than once. Pity they got rid of that joy in patch 1.05!
Oh, well, go kill some ghosts while you can.
Huh. Bell Gargoyles went down like little bitches, and I beat the Capra Demon first try.

the rest stay at default, this should make me at SL 70 (perfect for co-oping Artorias) and be able to fast-roll with all of Ciaran's gear plus a shield and bow.

Fastest movement speed and roll. 25 to 50% is a bit slower on both fronts (but maybe that's preferable in some situations now that they've increased the invincibility frames on the mid-roll? I dunno, I don't keep up with the PvP metagame stuff...). Above 50% and you move with all the grace of a brick shithouse.
Caved in and put on the ROFAP. No poise DSS build gogogogo
25% lets you use the fast roll. It's the best roll available that doesn't take up a ring slot- offers the fastest recovery for that category (and distance/invincibility frames I think). Also 25% and under grants you better running speed.
Mid-roll is still useless, you move so little that anyone with a semi-fast weapon can just re-position themselves and backstab you even if they whiff. Increased invincibility frames isn't going to save you from the suction power of lag!

Have any of you guys seen gamesfrontdotcom's (youtube channel) Dark and Demons Souls walkthrough. Its pretty funny, at one point he ripped his shirt off after being shanked by the Chthulu heads in 3-1 here is the video.

Is the Gaping Dragon supposed to be super easy?
All he did was rear up, slam down, then walk slowly straight.
I just went around him each time he did that and two-handed his tail/stump. It was kinda boring...
Yes. First "difficult" boss is usually capra demon if you can't get his two dogs killed fast enough, then spider bitch if you don't have any fire-resistant gear. Then O&S, without any qualifiers. Gaping dragon, on the other hand, is a giant pussy.

Welp, time to go to Darkroot because fuck if I rush to Blighttown...
Yeah, gaping dragon is one of the easier bosses. Pinwheel is probably the easiest though.
@Mcjon I always thought the problem with Quelaag was not taking damage, but dealing it. It's even easier to not take damage if you have Mildred around to tank hits and aggro spider lady. Compared to the Gargoyles (with their lolweakness to gold pine resins) and all the other early-game bosses, she is goddamn difficult to penetrate.
Each successful hit gets off crappy amounts of hp. It's tedious as hell.
Also if you want to cheese Capra you can go in with the fog ring equipped, the dogs won't even see you. Just remember to roll out of the way of his first running chop.
I use my spear to penetrate her.
