Ivory felt like a gigantic goddamn slog from the second time on. The best part of the DLC was the Ivory king and the golem armour, and it introduced the Ice rapier, which reset the entire balance of the DLc on the enjoy - hate scale. If the rapier had actually been rare in the slightest, I wouldn't care too much, but on the average run, I could get through the level without killing more than ten guys, and I'd typically get one about 80% of the time.

sounds like someone's salty over getting Sonic'd
It's the same running attack as any katana so if you can parry washing pole you can parry Onikiri. The running l1 is actually WORSE than the r1 because it starts a lot slower, thus lacks the real strength of the katana running r1, and has two parry windows and on top of that has even worse tracking, for some reason, and a lot longer recovery.
The weapon owns against people who panic roll because l2 catches that shit like frogs catch flies and that'll go straight into an l1 for huge damage/bleed buildup. Basically never panic roll. If you're scum and use an offhand caestus you can just throw out parries instead of rolling when you think you need to evade. If they r1 or l1, you'll probably parry them. If they l2 you have enough recovery time to time your roll to dodge or if you have a fast weapon hit them out of the l2.
Tbh I think it and warden blades are easily the best dual weapons in the game and both have super strong points, wardens eats parry fishers and onikiri eats panic rollers. It's one of the harder weapons to fight but if you can beat washing pole shitters you can beat onikiri users.

Also Brume was the best DLC.
No, it's just that they pretty much popularised "PRESS R1 TO WIN". Before that, all we had to really get annoyed about (in DS2, nobody cares about DS1 pvp) was katana run attacks, which were spammable, predictable, easily parryable, didn't automatically combo into another R1 and didn't do too much damage. Then along came the ice rapier.
Sure, make a weapon with good tracking, good damage and damage type, a special attack, bleed buildup, make it infusable and buffable, give it phantom range, phantom girth and phantom ribbing for your pleasure, make it trade favourably with anything but a specialised pvp weapon, and then give it one of the fastest R1 - followup R1 weapon movesets in the game. Yeah, that's a great idea, B team. Next time, why not make an enemy with 360 degree, repeatable, infinite stamina, lingering hitbox attacks?
Edit: Wait, you were talking about the porcupine ice rabbit things. I literally never fought them after I found out the first one could do damage on contact. Every time I had to fight them, out came the dragonslayer greatbow.

Iron was the worst DLC. I still like it but aside of Raime and Alonne themselves being great, the ash idol gimmick is pretty tiresome
But that's wrong.
All dark souls dlc's have been good
the co op areas in dark souls 2 though, that was just stupid
Oh yeah the DLCs have consistently been the best parts of their respective games.
Spent a couple of hours PVPing in High Wall at SL30
It was fun and i helped some people to bluecop.
Except for the asshole that wanted to bait me into the enemies. He got a giant seed and a mimic for his troubles.

Salt Corner
Meanwhile, at Firelink
If that's a legit cheat code, I will love that guy forever.

Brume = Shulva > Eleum Loyce and anybody who disagrees is a dirty Havelmage.
as said before, eleum loyce was fun the first time you do it
after that it quickly gets boring. The 2 decent bossfights are better than the 2 in shulva imo though
Really? Shulva is the only DLC where I enjoy all three bosses. I don't have especially fun with Aava, and the Ivory King, while incredibly badass and atmospheric, is a bit of a slog to go through.
I found the gank boss a huge annoyance(but all coop area bosses sucked), and Elana was reskinned nashandra with summons, though her moveset was different enough. The dragon is great though. I prefer aava over elana, but that's probably just me. Different strokes for different folks
I stopped parrying WP because shield up and hugging them to nullify their range was much more consistent
But yeah onikiri seems to have same timing as most fast weapons
I guess I was panic rolling a shitton because yesterday I kept running into Russian/Swedish DMB curved sword players who would slide and teleport around the map and hit me from light years away. Kept thinking I was going to get 70% of my hp taken off by phantom hits
One russian asshole actually spammed into air in the opposite direction and guardbroke me only to fail to get to me in time for the riposte because I was all the way across the map, Eurolag is the absolute worst.

The gank boss is one of the most fun bosses. No lore whatsoever, which is a shame, but really good fight unless the jump attack tracking triggers you.
Elana doesn't really look or act like Nashandra aside from having a similar animation rig. I'm not sure where that complaint comes from.
I dislike Aava because of the extremely long lasting hitboxes that make it unfairly hard at low Agility, plus I don't find the fight especially interesting. Lud and Zallen is deeper, but they are still both Aava and suffer from the same issues, plus the trek to there is stupidly long. I wouldn't mind it if it was as short as Raime's.
