No really am I the only one actually hyped for the revival of imo the best souls game?
Hyped? I already uninstalled the original Dark Souls from my laptop! If I'm gonna replay DS, it's gotta be with new and improved graphics.
I'm cautiously optimistic- I'd really like to see a new & improved DS1, but they have screwed up with this type of thing before with the DS2/SotFS thing, and I really hope it isn't just another quick squeeze of the cash cow- some soulless suit type going "hey, this damp soul thing's made us a ton of dosh- quick, is there anything we can do to fuck some more money out of it before these "gamer" creatures lose interest?"
Also, Vaati's said they released an official statement that said they aren't changing any of the gameplay or the levels, which gives me a pretty bad feeling about it, tbh. I dunno if 6-player connectivity and official servers are worth the turd pile that was the original game's PvP combat.

Why would they remove a ring? Besides which the Ring of Fog wasn't really ever used except in the very very beginning of the game.

The main hope for the remaster is that it might revitalize online play. If you want to go through the game offline you can just do it now.

Just got past the Dancer. The Dragon Crest shield was surprisingly useful. I don't think I'd have been able to beat her without it. The second stage made her really hard to dodge.
I'm just hoping they fix the roll mechanics. 4 directional rolling while locked on really wasn't fun and was one of the main reasons I liked DS2 a lot more.
omnidirectional rolling + sprinting while locked on might affect gameplay balance. at the very least pve would probably get easier in general

Why does it matter when you can i-frames dodge anything? And ADP was awful.
