She wanted to be alive, but AM lacked the power (at that point) to heal her outright, so it put her in suspended animation so she wouldn't die until she was found by someone who could heal her.

worth noting caster used a half full lesser grail to resurrect the dead. whether or not any wish or use she would get out of the grail would be corrupted is kind of arguable, I guess.

She says something about three years iirc. Which would mean 2001. But then dates outright don't match up at all. Or it could be that's when she's saying Shiki got his eyes as a kid which means 8 years after (2009) is Tsukihime and 2010 is FSN which completely screws the timeline.

Or, alternately, you could stop assuming that Tsukihime occurs immediately prior to FSN when, in reality, it is not clear that that is the case.

I'm not assuming immediately. Tsukihime happens in October and FSN in February. I even left in that 1 year addition in there. Unless you mean something like 2 years which then add to the confusion as Nasu said 'right after Tsukihime'.

Nevermind that the only years that make sense for Fate are 2002 and 2008, since 2/2 and 2/3 are a Saturday and Sunday. And Tsukihime only makes sense in 1999 and 2004 because 10/28 is a Thursday.

And then throw Zero into the Mix and it's pretty clear absolutely no thought went into these dates at all, and that you're just going to drive yourself insane trying to make them fit together.

Isn't Tohno about three years younger than Ryougi? Although he did get the eyes at a younger age so he would technically be the senpai when it comes to the yes of death perception but Ryougi woul be senpai when ti domes to the demon hunter organisation if Kiri didn't quite.

Although being Akasha Ryougi has first dibs on the eyes so that would mean chibi-ryougi gave the eyes of death perception to shota Nanaya

This is basically all we know for sure (repost again, but whatever):

Zero = 1990s, 1993 at earliest (US Pres. Clinton voted into office)
Tsukihime = 1990s? 2000? also Nasu: "The end of Tsukihime is the beginning of Fate"
Fate = early 2000s
Fate starts immediately/soon after the end of Tsukihime. (CM3, published much later than Zero)
Fate takes place ten years after Zero. (Fate)

It can still work. But specific references like US military stuff and time gap between Zero and Fate limits what you can do. More likely that the authors just made an error of communication or memory. It's not that big of a deal.

But. I don't think Nasu wants to answer these kinds of questions straight (even though he already kind of has, and badly). I wouldn't. The more you say, the more fans will hold you to it if you screw up.

It's basically the same reasons for Nintendo's policy with the Legend of Zelda franchise. They have admitted to having some kind of loose internal continuity that somehow actually includes all the games, but they will never make it public because it's creatively limiting.
