But in all seriousness, Araki dropped some major bombshells rather casually in this chapter of Jojolion.

Jojolion Chapter 70 deets

Urban Guerrilla got wrecked because he pulled a bond villain "turn you back on a not quite dead opponent". Rai catches one of Josuke's bubbles and observes that it's not in fact a bubble at all, but a "cord" that's oscillating at high frequencies to give the appearance of bubbles. Is Araki bringing String Theory into Soft&Wet's powers...?

Meanwhile, Joubin has met with the seemingly leader of the Rock Humans - "Poor Tom". And he's cooking up a plan to have Joubin stick his Lego White House inside the Higashikata Mansion to trap Josuke and co inside. Will Joubin do it, even if it means endangering his own family?

The fact that Lego is now a Stand makes me giggle.

Jojolion Chapter 71 takes a short break in-between arcs to show us the backstory of its female protagonist - Yasuho Hirose.

So it turns out that Yasuho encountered the Rock Humans once before in her life, though she didn't realise it at the time. Sold an unusual hairpin by a street vendor, which turns out to be a insectoid Rock Creature that's slowly driving her to despair with various hallucinations until she tries to take her own life. But Holly Joestar being nurse supreme manages to save her in time and imparts some important words of advice and bro-supreme Kira Yoshikage passing by destroys the Rock Parasite that was tormenting Yasuho. And thus Yasuho decides to compete in the race to find the Rokakaka for her own reasons.

Meanwhile, Joubin is digging a hole with a knife of all things as he plans to plant the lego stand into the ground to kill Josuke and co.

So yeah, good to see Yasuho getting some much needed development.

Jojolion chapter 72 is out! Araki killed a dog...again.

We get some more backstory of Kylo Ren Joubin and how he met the smugglers. It was cool to see the early Part 8 antagonists again since y'know Josuke killed them all. Meanwhile, Josuke and Rai play Metal Gear Jojo and sneak into the Higashikata grounds to camp out and harvest the forbidden fruit once it ripens. Joubin has set the Lego Stand into the grounds and trapped everyone in it while it now reeks havoc, seemingly killing the family dog Iwasuke and attacking Joubin's child Tsurugi. So now, will Joubin stay on the dark side now that his evil superiors have hurt his child? Or will he double down on his villainy...

All the players are in place, the stage has been set: Gundam Fight - Ready...GO!!!

A bit on the short side this month, but still enjoyable.

Joubin showing off his analytical skills as he works out the power of Ozone Baby. Whilst he turned against Poor Tom as expected, I didn't forsee Joubin trying to go it alone whilst manipulating Josuke to fight Tom. Is this the birth of Part 8's villain?

Regardless, I'm hyped for the next chapter.

Jojolion Chapter 76 - man two months was such a long wait for more Jojo.

Well...that happened

Josuke with that masterful bluff to trick Tom into deactivating Ozone Baby. Tom then got sniped 360 no scoped! But who was it? It came from behind Josuke so it was maybe Joubin?

Poor Tom had comrades as paramedics, this follows what Mamezuku was talking about how the people who wanted the Rokakaka fruit were people in the upper echelons of society like doctors and stuff.

Joubin and Tsurugi posing in time for Father's day. They fooled everyone and came out on top with the Rokakaka. Only 14 days until the fruit can be harvested.

Oh, and Mamezuku is alive somewhat. That could be Josuke's only trump card as both Joubin and Tom's comrades were under the impression that he died.

So...what now? It felt like we were building up to a conclusion, but now everyone's at an impasse.

As for JoJolion, here's hoping Araki is insane enough to pull a DiU and we're only halfway through even though realistically having 20 chapters to go would be a very generous estimate.

Finished Stone Ocean. Is Emporio just living in an alternate timeline now where everyone has changed names? And did Jolyne get busted out of jail by Jotaro in the original timeline since Pucci died?

Made in Heaven being destroyed caused Pucci and by extension Dio to be completely erased from history thus causing the Joestar family to live happier lives (remember Jolyne was imprisoned due to being framed in a setup organised by Pucci).

Also, Jolyne being called "Irene" is a massive nod to Araki's previous work featuring a female protagonist - "Gorgeous Irene".

Would DIO potentially be scouted out as a Dead Apostle Ancestor if he were in a Tsukihime world? I think he would, but he would decline because he would be content with nothing but being NUMBAH ONE!!!

^ Dio didn't want to be a vampire specifically, he just saw it as the next step in gaining power and if he were in the Nasuverse then I suspect he'd aim to become an Ultimate One or something, not some lousy DAA.
