Hot damn KC looked great. The visuals were a little mixed throughout the episode (kid Buccellati's character model sometimes worked, but sometimes looked off, backgrounds ranged from gorgeous to lackluster even between shots, really choppy animation at the start but fluid af in the key scenes, weird pillar physics due to being drawn as part of the background rather than as breakable objects, etc.) but the directing was really good where it counted the most. I wish that the episode opened with the backstory (and that the backstory had a more quiet, serene feel to it ala Cuarón's Roma) so that the elevator scene could've gone uninterrupted and maintained the creepy tone all the way through, but it was enjoyable enough and executed as well as I hoped, if not as well as I dreamed. KC blew me out of the water, though, it was unnerving when it emerged and stayed terrifying all throughout that final scene. Can't wait for next week, and three weeks from now (two weeks from now there will be another recap )
So, uh, what did King Crimson do to Bruno?

Agree that the flashback was oddly placed and should have come before, though I do understand why they did what they did, especially because they cut seamlessly from the end of the flashback to Bruno's current thoughts. Also, I was struck by Bruno's backstory because it's one of the few examples I've really seen in anime of an amicable divorce. It felt super real.
King Crimson looks ridiculous honestly, even Killer Queen's and The World's introduction was way more intimidating.

Also pretty sad that the final boss' stand is the meme because I already know what it does. Oh well.
I didn't expect King Crimson's ability would be revealed so early on. The World's ability to stop time was only revealed in the final battle of Stardust Crusaders, whereas here we're only about halfway through the story. Also, I know it's a meme at this point but I don't really get how his ability works. Why would skipping time forward make Bruno see a doppelganger of himself in the future?

I liked the Bruno flashback. It just made the current moment all the more poignant. Bruno is my current favorite character now.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
This rant makes no sense. He's just skipping time, which totally makes sense, and since he's removing cause and effect as he does it, he can see everything that's supposed to happen in the 10 seconds he erases, and thus he can react to it. Duh. Actually HxH explained it pretty well when Terrorsandwich was given an eerily similar ability.
you aren’t thinking about it hard enough

That's just how you JoJo. Also, the ranter seems to accept freezing time and going back in time, yet can't accept erasing time or skipping forward, even though all are equally "impossible"? That just seems arbitrary.
Is this season airing in a later time slot than normal? In previous seasons Trish's arm would have been a big black censor on the end that gets removed for the BD. To say nothing of how much Bruno got wrecked.

Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
It moved to a timeslot an hour later a few episodes in. I'm not sure if it has something to do with that, or if it switched channels, or if DP have just been better at appeasing the censors, but the censorship has decreased significantly this season. Here's hoping it keeps up.
