Semi, because while Abbacchio's backstory is pretty similar to normal EMIYA's, just on a lesser scale, Demiya is basically a racist caricature, and Abbacchio, despite his tanned skin and turquoise lipstick, is not.

Eh, in the manga it comes up at the Illuso fight, which is right around the corner.

It's been two years since I read the manga, and I hated Part V, so pardon me for forgetting. I thought it came up much later in Sicily.

In any case, it's better it came up during Abbacchio's first spotlight moment.

Not really, since it's what explains Abbacchio's rather extreme loyalty to Bucciarati.

    - - - Updated - - -

Also, turning the criminal from a simple burglar to a murderer makes Abbacchio look really stupid for not realising the guy had a gun.
That said, I'm hoping that cutting Abbachio's origin from the Illuso fight will let them expand Fugo's character.

He looked too distracted with his moral dilemma.
He never sleeps. He never dies.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

Essentially this. That, and the guy already had shaken him with the threat of blackmail.

It's Archer writ small. Also, if the burglar hadn't been the same guy who bribed him and if he hadn't blackmailed him, Abbacchio would have noticed the gun. Probably that has something to do with his guilt.

Don't @ me if you don't think that hiding a boat within a boat was one of the best twists of the season so far, and this is coming from a guy who thinks that the Soft Machine incident is super forgettable enough to the point that I totally forgot it even happened in the manga, and how it concluded.
McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

It is a twist, but it's so out of left field it feels like an asspull. Which puts it at odds with the detective style investigation Moody Blues Jazz brings.

Soft Machine was one of the few Stands I remembered from the manga, but I still forgot the entire fight, or at least the twist. I thought it was that Zucchero had inflated and hid the boat as opposed to draping it over the other boat.

Huge spoiler for the final boss' Stand
Ok. So King Crimson works by erasing small portions of time, right? And since that portion of time is erased, Diavolo can't just punch someone or something similar during the "stopped" time, like Dio could with The World. And yet, twice during the final fight - once against Polnareff, another against Giorno - he throws blood on someone's face DURING the "stopped" time. Is there any reasonable explanation for that, or should I just fall back on the "It just works!" meme?

    Spoiler:
It doesn't necessarily erase portions of time as much as he's able to freeze 10 seconds of time and is able to connect different pieces of different outcomes of different actions to benefit him the most, and once that's done, all other outcomes collapse to that outcome. Thus, it's less time manipulation than fate manipulation. Maybe one of those outcomes involved him throwing blood on someone's face. TBH, the thing that finally explained KC to me was actually Chapter 387 of Hunter x Hunter, where one character gets a Nen power that REALLY references King Crimson. Leave it to Togashi to actually get it.

Forgot to add that he has some element of causality reversal as well, kinda like GB, so maybe that's how blood in the face worked too.

    My Thoughts
There's no simple answer but the easiest one I always rolled with is that once separated from him, the "blood" just becomes a standard object that becomes part of the erased time.

What? No, time is definitely skipped, that's a pretty recurring thing whenever King Crimson is used.

    Oh, that makes sense!

    Spoiler:
Especially considering spilled blood IS considered an object for the purposes of Gold Experience.

Never said time didn't get erased. Rather, all the events just got collapsed into one outcome that he spliced together. Whether he compressed 10 seconds into 1 or not, I don't remember, but I think his real power is seeing a certain time into the future, looking at all the possible events irrespective of causality, and then condensing them into the instant he activated King Crimson.

That face when you can map all the (current) time abilities in Jojo onto a remote for an amusing analogy.

    Spoiler:
    The World = Pause Button
Bites the Dust = Repeat Button
    King Crimson = Skip Button
Made in Heaven = Fast Forward Button
    Mandom = Rewind Button
    Jojolion ???

    and for a bonus round:
    D4C = Change Channel Button.

    And now, time resumes...

Don't forget King Crimson also has video editing as well as skip button abilities. Also, Tusk Act 4 is the live TV option.

I think that if it worked like that, the Metallica fight would have been quite different from its portrayal.
