People have always liked Iskander. And after the anime the entire Japanese fandom seems to have jumped on the dynamic between him and his Master (judging by the hilarious quantities of fanart). There's got to have been some leakage. I'm not surprised at the attention - I am surprised that we're apparently still missing stories about them outside the Japanophone-sphere.
