Nah. Mako Mori was after revenge for her family. Emiya Shirou just want to be an awesome hero like his dad. He still doesn't value himself as in canon.
That is also the reason why every drift with a normal person is doomed to fail. Shirou's mind is to distorted to really link with. Only experienced(and traumaticed) instructors can do se because they themselves keep their own mind in check.

Nasu said that they wouldn't stand each other, or something. Although I would like if they were vitriolic buddies, at least inside the Jaegger. I liked their (few) interactions in CP.

Update: Someone did mention Saber earlier, so since no Grail, could just be a look-alike that thinks she's the reincarnation of King Arthur and that it's her duty to protect her 'kingdom'? Kinda makes sense for Saber to be Shirou's partner, since she was the one who indirectly let him be a hero in the original...

I liked the whole Shiki T. and Shirou idea, personally. For several motives, really. One, both of them are distorted to a degree. Second, they are both the protagonists of their respective stories, so it makes sense to a degree (and Saber and Shirou as fighting partners had been done too many times in my opinion, but that's just me). And three... well, as I said, vitriolic partners inside the Jaeger. I'd like to see them snark at each other while putting down a kaiju.

Well, we've got Red and I guess Quantum could be Archer as well. Because 'lol Quantum'. Hmmm. Rin being Blue would be fun, Issei is Green, Shinji/Sakura is pink, and maaaybe Ayako is Yellow?
