How do you guys think I should explain Stands in terms of Nasuverse magecraft? I was thinking I would explain them as a fusion of the soul and latent magic circuits of the user, their fighting spirit and their full potential (read Origin) released. Also, I was thinking of having them be their own separate form of Mystery as old as the AoG and not subject to the same deterioration magecraft suffers due to being manifestations of the nature of the Soul.
Honestly, I'd say either stick purely to how Jojo explains them, or simply have an in-story theory proposed by someone. Trying to connect everything by Nasu mechanics can sometimes ruin the fun of a crossover element like Stands.
Back to earthbound. Was thinking of having maybe Ness and Arc(Child) as stand ins for the TYPE-Earth, since it doesn't exist.
What Urameshi said
You could have a magus see them, throw out some line about how they must be Ghost Liners, maybe let the magus speculate a bit about how they operate and then move on. Does it matter that Stands are squared away 100% with Nasu mechanics?
Spoiler:
I third the opinion that you don't have to explain how every little mechanic works in a crossover. No one's really gonna hold yer feet to the fire over it.
Especially when a lot of the more mystical stuff in Jojo like Ghosts, Youkai and the Gods themselves aren't even given a logical explanation, they just exist out there in the shadow of civilisation.
"Here's a bangin lil' tune about takin' on The Man!"

You all make good points, and ultimately, I won't sweat the details too much, but I do feel like explaining not because I have to, but because I want to. That, and certain parts, such as the fusion of magic circuits and the soul, will be rather important to my actual fic in explaining how Stand users can be proper Masters despite not being mages and why they can't use any other magecraft as a result. That, and I plan to make some thematic connections between Stands and Origins, considering both are similarly described and make the Joestar sense a Sorcery Trait.
Also, where are the FSF translations on this site or anywhere? I'd really like to read those so I can figure out how to include Francesca.
Thanks. Will do.
See, in this case I encourage it, only because it is an important part of the plot. I still say however, that you shouldn't focus or spend more time on it that you have too, since exposition dumps can sometimes suck.
Also, when I mentioned that Ness had the backing of the planet, I was half right. He does have the backing of the planet, but only because he "Touched the truth of the universe" with his psychic powers overlapping with everything in the universe, which let him fight Giygas.
Maybe make it the 6th Magic or something. Off the top of my head, I can't think of Ness's powers fitting any of the other 5.
First Magic: Denial of Nothingness (possibly responsible for creation of false ether)
2nd Magic: Kaleidoscope (Alternate realities, diffraction, time travel)
3rd Magic: Heaven's Feel (Materialization of the Soul, granting wishes(?))
4th Magic: Unknown
5th Magic: Blue (Can somehow take Soujurou's last 5 minutes and punt it to the end of the universe)
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

What detemines divinity again? I know in Nasu if an elemental gains worship, they gain divinity.
If a god that has flesh gives up this flesh, they become a divine spirit. How would the children being divine work? How could I explain it? Them simply being backed by the planet makes them divine?
My idea shifted from having Ness as Type Earth, to him and Arc (child) being a stand in for it as psuedo TYPE.
So, if Jack the Ripper from FSF were to meet his killer and remember his true identity, would the formless mass coalesce into a single shape and take on the properties the real Jack the Ripper had?
I don't think so, Saint Graphs don't strike me as so malleable. They might remember their real identity, but I imagine they'd remain being the incarnation of the mystery of Jack the Ripper's true identity.
