    Anime Movie Recommendations

I'v had myself a hankering for a condensed, quality animated experience, namely in film form. What anime movies out there do you folks recommend?

Lengthy multi-episode OVAs are also acceptable.

These are the ones I can remember watching off the top of my head, so these don't qualify.
-Pretty much every single Miyazaki film in existence
    -Mardock Scramble I
    -Summer Wars
-The Girl who Leaped through Time
    -The Rebuild of Eva movies
McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.

Makoto Shinkai, of course. All of him.

(Although technically I'm already a bit off-topic, since what he does could be better described as OAVs.)

^ Agreed with this. Also, everything by Mamoru Kanbe, especially the Digimon Movie fuck yes.

Also, Miyazaki is shit tier, IMO.

For Shinkai, I recommend everything. Place Promised in Our Early Days is beautiful.

You just named all the anime movies I saw...Now I can't recommend anything.

Hmmm, I guess the Ah! My Goddess movie is good.
Also, POKEMON MOVIES! I watch them for the hell of it and the nostalgia.
The End of Evangelion. Absolutely godly.

    And that's all I got.

Steamboy. A fun adventure movie if I do say so myself. Metropolis is pretty good, too. As is Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika.

You should have waited for the last two movies to come out before you watched the Rebuild series.

Are the eva movies really that good? I got a few episodes into the series and ended up hating almost all the characters to a point where I couldn't watch anymore. Should i give these ones a try?

The Rebuild movies are meant to be much more approachable to a general audience than original Eva was. Less nihilistic. Still really Freudian though.

Two movies is considerably less time investment than an entire series, so even if you don't like them it's not like you really lost that much. Just a couple hours you could have spent doing something else.

I only watch Rebuild for the Mecha action. The story does not interest me anymore, is that bad? :<
