What I meant is that if he could mistake it for Edens Zero, then yeah, Mashima does heavily reuse character design. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
I doubt he reads either of them so mistaking one for the other isn’t really damning.

100 Year Quest. The manga proper ended last year. Speaking of which, the anime just got to Zeref and Acnologia's meeting, which reminds me of how the Alvarez arc was shaping up to be good by Fairy Tail's extremely low standards, but no, it fucked up. Also raised an eyebrow at his seiyuu choice. Not one I would have expected.

That *is* a weird choice.
I was expecting more of a guttural growler or at least someone with a bass as opposed to Toriumi's boyish baritone/tenor.

Toriumi is good as other characters, and even his Acnologia ain't THAT bad. It's just weird and unexpected.
Also, 100 Year Quest is actually illustrated by Ueda Atsuo, though he's definitely trying to imitate Mashima's style. Honestly, you'd probably only notice the differences if you really looked for them.

Actually, looking back on some of it, guess you don't really have to look too hard to notice a few things are off.

So Fire Punch author has a new series. In JUMP.
The first chapter has the mc mentioning he has a huge debt to yakuza and sold one of his eyes, his testicles, and other organs to barely scratch the debt. And eating a cigarette for a dollar.
This is definitely the Fire Punch guy.
