    Gyo - TOTALLY CEREAL WALKING FISH SHOW



    For those of you who don't know, Gyo is originally a manga by body-horror badass Junji Ito about Japan being invaded by smelly fish on legs, and MC trying to get his bitch girlfriend to shut the f*ck up. Ufotable animu ova is coming out Feb 15th, and they just posted a PV so I thought thread was in order, since it already looks preetttyy different from the manga.





    So yeah, apparently Kaori has been upgraded to heroine rather than victim, and quite a few new charas thrown in to take over some of her and Tadashi's roles/shiz that happened to them, although Tadashi seems to be pushed wayy on the back burner now. So yes, THIS IS TOTALLY A DRAMA GUYS, I'M SUPER CEREAL!

    I had to refresh myself after watching the PV (mainly cus new charas confused the frack out of me), but yeah GONNA BE AWESOME MEHNNN~!!

    Btw, anyone thought the PV makes the story ridiculous? Ok, the story is pretty ridiculous, but here it looks like that from the start. At least the manga was justified by its nightmarish tinge.

    PV makes the story more "dramatic," especially with Kaori talking about "oh my god i love tadashi, omg tadashi, omg" crap, and what looks like "OMG IM SEPARATED FROM TADASHI" drama, like that music isnt helping matter either lol
    like manga it was more about kaori being ridiculous in the beginning, and then just slowly piled on with the walking fish etc etc, like it was ridiculous and Ito knew it, ..even though everyone lists the genre as "drama"
    here its like "OMG TRIP WITH FRIENDS/SLUT~ *calls tadashi*" "OMG THOSE F*CKING SHARKS IS ERRYWHERE MEHN" like they made it much more horror-y/drama-y, and cus typical horror needs a fem lead, (looks like) they made Kaori not a bitch so she could be, and just let slutty chick take her place, cept for the teeth-brushing stuff =3=

    (really should update trailer on front page, ill get to that soon)

    just starting raw right now (cus this things been a bitch to find, GROUPS WHY U NO FANSUB/GIVE PROPER RAW??)
    but yeah, not really gonna do a play by play (unless i feel like it)
    just felt the need to comment on the GROSS (no pun intended) amount of 3D
    its too much =_=


    EDIT
    just finished, not gonna comment too much for spoilers sake, but will say its quite different from the manga (in a good way i think)
    although ito's style doesn't really transfer well to animation, or rather the character designer's style doesn't work with his
    like, the lines weren't very dramatic and some of the more "grotesque" things/aspects didn't really translate well (like the gas, felt way less forceful =_=)
    still DEFINITE WATCH PEOPLES!

    I like how of all the things I thought would get cut the circus of all things managed to get in. Not quite as demonic or nightmarish but still a nice comedic wut factor.
